My daughter is an adult and recently had her first child. Saturday though we are looking for a mother daughter escape! We have been thinking of some inexpensive things we can do. About all we can think of is where to eat! (Now that's a shame!) So.. I am looking for ideas. Got any? We can't take all day as dad is sitting the baby! But we have a good portion of it. Don't want to travel far and don't want to spend a lot of money as we neither one have lots of it! Please help us out!!

My first thought would be spa. But they can get expensive. But it would be very relaxing. Then I was thinking going to a park. Then I thought that it's probably cold in Chicago. Well probably anything being taken away from the responsibility of watching the baby for one day would be a treat. I'm sure it doesn't really matter, she will still be happy. Maybe go see some sort of show if there are any around there.

Hey, thanks for all the input! I think we may try to hit the zoo if it's not too cold! We may go out to eat first or after, not real sure yet! Thanks!

Well how about haircuts and manicures with a lunch? Or how about a movie and lunch? How about a massage and lunch? I would be happy with just a long relaxing lunch just talking and eating good food.

Thanks for all the ideas! I'm sure lunch will be involved one way or another!

Maybe a local museum, or a tour of an historic place in your area. I guess it depends on what type of weather you have in your area now, if it is warm, maybe a walk around the docks or the beach. Wish I could come up with more for you. Enjoy your day !

It's going to be a little chilly for outside activities. If it's warm enough we'd like to go to the zoo. I'm not sure about the weather yet! thnx
