How often do you drink coffe in a day?

I noticed that many people are seem into coffee. This is the reason perhaps why coffee shops are sprouting like mushrooms. In my family I am the only one wh o is not into a cup of coffee since I prefer chocolate drink or milk over coffee. My Father consumed at least 5 cups in a day. My mother does drink any time whenever she needs to take a break. My brother, as often as he thinks of food, he always has it with coffee. And my sister, very after household chores done. Even the children in the family are developing a taste over coffee. How about you, are you also addicted to coffee?

I'm a coffeeholic, consuming 6 to 8 mugs a day of instant coffee. Yes, mugs not only cups but really mugs, so if a mug of coffee is equivalent to 1 and half cups, 6 to 8 mugs of coffee is equal to 9 to 12 cups a day. OMG!I didn't realize that! Maybe, I should start minimizing my consumption. The effects might take its toll anytime soon, I'm not getting any longer.

I fix a small pot once a day. My coffee pot is 24oz. I may not drink it all right away. Later in the day i will finish it. I dont beleiev its an addiction because if i dont fix it i dont crave it and thats what addiction is. Chocolate packs on the pounds. I like the flovored coffees. Some have a chocolate flavor.

There are truly variations of coffee's taste one can enjoy. It is true, indeed that if one is addicted to it, missing a cup even for just a day feels like hell for them. There are cases, too, that they can't think and function well without having a cup first thing in the morning. Thank you for sharing your experience :-) Have a great day.:-)

So, you can live without coffee, then. There are still other healthy beverages we can enjoy. And, coffee is not just the only one who does perk us up.:-)

Hiya Eureka, No not addicted to coffee but when I go out I usually have a small coffee with a little milk nothing else. So I never drink any when I´m at home either only when I go to a Bar. It is´nt even strong Coffee either. The others here at Home will drink Coffee in the House with regularity too. They get through two Jars of Nescafe in about a Month so that´s not so much either.

Hello there, Lovinangelsinstead.:-) Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.:-) My partner would take a cup at any time of the day in anywhere he can find it. And a bar is not an exception. Instead of getting himself a booze he'd order himself a cup. I doubt if there's a home without a jar of coffee in its pantry.:-) Have a great day.:-)

I never tasted so much coffee brands. We always use Nescafe and from time to time hillsbro. But I really love the coffee's smell when it was my great grandma who picked, peeled, dried and roasted the coffee beans. I always felt intoxicated by its aroma.

Hiya Eureka, That´s right there´s probably hardly any House that does not have Coffee what a long way coffee has come since I learned about it at School. Then it came in those funny jars in powder or even in liquid form too although I think that was the Maker called Camps I quite enjoyed Camps it had a different taste to it as well.

Hello, Msfrancisco.:-) It is really tempting to have a cup of coffee especially when you are so used to it. Having none at all is like depriving yourself of one of life's little pleasure.... I hope you are not having difficulties with such intake. Have a happy healthy life, my dear. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.:-)

I don't usually drink coffee at home. I live alone so when I do it is instant. If I have company I will brew a pot sometimes. I can't see making a pot of coffee for one or two cups. When I am out I usually have 2 or 3 cups, but I can't have caffine so it sometimes limits how much I drink. Some places still don't have decaf or they have to brew a new pot or something. In the summer I don't drink any hot drinks at home. I still drink it when I go out, because most places have the air on so low, that I am freezing.

Hi there, Cerebellum.:-) Though, I am not much of a coffee drinker but, whenever I am tempted to drink coffee especially during cold weather, I always opted to instant. But, when we are out I always asked for the brewed one. My husband preferred brewed unless he is lazy to heat the pot. Thank you for responding.Have a wonderful day.:-)

A lot of people are like your husband and only want brewed. I only drink it brewed when I'm out or for special occasions. At home I usually just have instant. I have to stay awaq from caffine, so that kind of limits where I can drink brewed.

What is a bright sunshine in the morning without a cup of coffee to enjoy it? :-) You are one typical coffee lover, starting a day with a cup. Well, it is still good to know that you are aware of the cons of drinking too much coffee. At least you can prevent any further damage(if ever there'll be one) in drinking too much caffeine. :-) Thak you for sharing your thoughts here. Have a great day ahead.:-)

I love a cup of nice hot coffee in the morning to help get my day going..It's a large cup like 10 oz and that's it for the day. I work with 1 gal that goes thru 5 or 6 mugs a day..not counting the huge cup she brings into work with her. No wonder so many folks don't sleep well..it's all the caffeine we consume. There is something special about the warm smell of fresh coffee brewing that makes my day start off well so it's a daily thing for me!

My husband and I go through about 2 pots of coffee a day! I know it is probably a bad habit to drink coffee so much but we just like it.... I have heard about Starbucks having good coffee, but have never tried it..... I have tried specialty coffees from McDonalds but do not care for them.....I would rather get the specialty coffees and cremes at our gas stations..... they taste better and cost less.

Hello, Hagirl:-) Starbucks offers a variation of coffee taste. You can go form brewed to gourmet coffees. I don't like the taste of coffee elsewhere. I'd often asked to double the servings in one cup so I can have a better taste of it. But, of course, in coffee shops like starbucks you only have to wait for your coffee to be served. It is a great thing that you and your husband have the chance to enjoy a cup together. Have a great day and thank you for responding.;-)

Hello, Xinlingchengbao.:-) It seems to me that you are too young to be drinking coffee, aren't you?. It is harmful to one's health especially in an older person. I do agree with you that in some extent coffee could be harmful to one's health. But, there are certain things coffee offers that we can't find in other beverages much more in the water alone... Pardon me, but sometimes the aroma of coffee gives wonder to the senses, too. But, lucky you to be content with just hot water.:-) Keep it that way, then. I want to come out of this addiction, I consume 4-5 cup of coffee and tea. It contains lot of sugar contents which is not good for health. I wish to cut it down and want to consume max of 2-3. How to do that?
• Philippines
26 Jan 10
Hi. :-) I don't have any clue in how to stop such addiction for I am not really a coffee drinker. But, my sister who can consume 5 to 6b cups a day was able to lower her intake to at least 3 cups a day. What she did was to keep herself busy doing different task so as not to think of coffee. And if she's into something that requires only mental tasks then she's munching on fruits or nuts instead of having coffee. There's still a healthy way to enjoy a cup, though. Try using coffee combined with mushroom. I think, it is also available in your country. Thank you.:-)

I wouldn't say that I'm addicted, since my consumption varies from day to day; however, I appreciate good coffee and I think that separates the coffee consumers from the coffee addicts. Mass produced, cheap coffee that you can buy in the 5-lb tin are usually made from stale beans in the first place. There is a definite difference between commercial coffees and lesser-known more expensive coffee. My two favorite, affordable and easily attainable coffees for everyday is Caribou Coffee's Obsidian and Ugly Mug, which can be found in the organic section of most grocery stores. Both of which are very smooth and full bodied without being bitter. Flavor also varies according to preparation and storage, both of which are very open to debate and another subject entirely. If you want to see what all the fuss is about, try a cup of good, fresh coffee-buy it right from the coffee shop if you can. Coffee shops tend to have fresher beans. The name brand really means nothing in terms of freshness, since a cup of Starbucks from the shop tastes far better than the Starbucks you can buy at Wal Mart-then drink it next to something like Folgers. You will see what all the fuss is about.

23 Jan 10
Wow! you must have known your cup by heart.:-) I didn't bother to know the differences or how to tell if the coffee is of good quality since I just enjoy the smell and not really the taste.:-) I haven't heard of those two brands you've mentioned. Maybe it is not available here in my country but if ever I'll find my way to an organic coffee shop I'll look for those. For my partner's sake..-) Thank you for sharing those ideas with us here. Have a great weekend.:-)

I just drink it in the morning with my breakfast. I'd love to be able to drink it more throughout the day, but if i do then it affects my sleep and makes me all jittery, stressed and crazy! Instead I either drink caffeine free drinks for the rest of the day or maybe allow myself one cup of green tea, as well as water and caffeine free drinks.
