Things you did in games that made you feel dumb?

As the title says, what mistakes have you made in games that made you feel really dumb? Maybe a really obvious hint that you missed and made you run around the map for hours? Or maybe accidentally grenading yourself in the foot in a FPS? For me, the most recent mistake is getting into a gunfight with zombies, and losing. That's right: I lost a gunfight to zombies. That was in S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl, and I didn't know zombies could shoot until... well, until I got shot half to death. I started shooting back and got shot the rest of the way to death. :c
