I am currently using Compaq, this was bought in the US by my father and brought it here in the Philippines, it costs around $450.00. However, it doesn't have webcam installed, otherwise it would reach around $500-550 and anyway, I don't need it. Apple's laptop is pretty expensive for me - I suggest you search for a laptop that would be useful to you without breaking the bank. Good luck.

My laptop's operating system is Vista (yup...) and sometimes it is a bit slow in prompting or logging. I also prefer XP but then I understand that the Microsoft people will no longer provide updates on the XP.

You are right. After calming down, I discover that I needn't a laptop in fact. I already have a TOSHIBA notebook, but I even hadn't take it out of my house for one time. And in my office, I have a desktop for my work. Undeniably, the aplle is really attractful and beautiful, especially its battery and weight, but we should think all of our reality such as our currency our real purpose. So I will not buy it. BUT WHO CAN TELL ME HOW TO UNINSTALL THE WINDOWS VISTA AND CHANGE IT INTO WINDOWS XP?

Oh? Quite bigger screen? Is it 17 inchs? In fact, I didn't like the big laptop, as it's too heavy. My laptop is 14 inchs, and it is nearly 2.5 kg. This weight is too heavy to take it out of house. You are also very thankful for your Uncle, as you want to buy a notebook for your nephew. I think your Uncle and also your parents will be praud of you!

I'm just using some Toshiba one that I picked up a month or so before the Uni started.. Its nice but it seems to have some cooling issues lately. Right now I'm thinking about opening it to clean it but for some odd reason it seems to overheat way to often at a special mys school. Something that it doesn't seem to do at home.. heh. :)

i have an aspire one by acer. it's very handy and quite fast among the other notebooks... and i have a 6-hour battery life. it's so cool because i can really take it to places and get my job done with enough battery life to spare for games and stuff.

Which size is your laptop? Your battery is really good. My laptop's battery can only be used for 2 hours. It's TOSHIBA, and I will never buy this brand, it makes me despair.

You are clever! I bought a TOSHIBA laptop 2 years ago, but I had not take it out of my home because it is really very heavy and its battery can only insist 2 hours! I am really regret for buying it. It takes me nearly $1,000.
