They Have Already Said It All...

What do you do when you run into a discussion that you're really interested and so eager to respond only to find out that the responders before you already responded something similar to what you have in store in your mind? It was stated in the guidelines that you have to read the responses before you in order not to give a repeating opinion. Oftentimes I don't make my own response and just add some things to the box of the responder whom I had similar idea. There are also times that if I couldn't add anything because he/she said it all, I will put a comment saying that this response is great and the discussion starter should take note of it and maybe award it as the best response. Well my main agenda why I do that is not because I worry about my posts count but to help encourage readers to engage on the idea and have a healthy exchange of opinions Can you share what you usually do?

I do what you do! I join in on the response box where a user has said what I was intending saying and tell them that they said it and maybe add a bit more too. They usually come back and add a comment and then that box just gets more people joining in and we exchange even more information regarding the topic itself. If what I was going to say has already been said it doesn't usually make me skip the discussion altogether as there is always a place where I can barge in, either because there is a user I know or because a certain response is identical to my thoughts too.

Well to be honest, I think you were the one who inspired me on doing that. And Yes, I was not wrong thinking that you would be responding here because I expected that you would be the first one to respond to this I think by simply being yourself you have inspired and thought a lot of us here

By being me and doing my own thing? Surely that's what we all, well most of us, do here? Certainly those that I know well are the ones that are real here and say what they really think and don't respond just for the sake of it. That gets tiring and leads nowhere in the long run

I hope we(is it okay if I include myself?) could influence more people on doing things the right way here in mylot because it's really more enjoyable that way. They should always remember that the guidelines is not their enemy but in reality their closest friend.

My answers are independent of what others say. If it is a repetition then its too bad cause I have no time to read what others have to say but in a way it reiterates what has already been stated.

Well can I ask you what motivates you in answering discussions? Are you enjoying doing your thing and thinking that no one had already thought of your answer? I mean I know that reading the responses is really a pain, specially discussions with really long list of responders. I hope by doing that you don't have responses that were deleted because of unknowingly repeating an idea or an opinion

Good for you then I just hope you're enjoying what you do and not struggle every month to find discussions that would make ends meet

Hello hexeduser. Whatever the rules they should be easy to follow and the rule that says you cannot repeat what others have said cannot be stuck to the t for reasons given even here by you.I can understand if someone does copy/paste! Is it ever possible to go through loads of responses? So far I have not noticed any of my responses being deleted. May be I am simply unique!!!

it may be similar to what you were going to say, but it doesn't have to be the same. i have responded to different topics and seen some answers that were along the lines of what i was going to say. so i just make sure i mix it up a bit.

I guess your one of the independent type then. I say try engaging in discussions that you have responded and you'll see your earnings pile up while enjoying. I hope you can try this

It's really not about plagiarism or anything. You don't have to have a response that is copied word for word to say that it's similar. Having a similar response here means pointing out or giving out the same idea or opinion. It's true that you have nothing to be nervous about but in that sense your missing the chance of talking about the similarities of your ideas. You can really dish out a lot of good thoughts if the idea is already established and you can play around it all you want. You get to increase your earnings too even without those numbers beside your name adding up

I encourage you to read the responses because it's enjoyable and you'll find yourself answering through every box smoothly and not struggle to find discussions to answer
