All Great Men Have Been Men of Action

All great men have been men of action. They never spent their life in idle contemplation. They acted with determination and won success. Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln are immortal and shall be known for ever for their brilliant actions and noble deeds. These great men learnt the secret of success which according to them consists in action and not in idle contemplation or useless thoughts. Action is the supreme force around which we move day and night. Action is the very breath of life. Life would be impossible without action. Work is the key to progress, peace and prosperity. Again, thought and action go side by side. If there is no thought, there is no action. One who does any action without thinking first, it is mostly harmful. Holy books of every religion teach us that the true worship of God lies in the work done with a feeling of detachment towards its reward. How effective is this truth in your life? How do you teach this to your kids? Or do you have something else to say?

A great example of a man of action was Jesus Christ. One of his close friends had this to say: John 21:25 (New International Version) 25Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. He was not only a man of action but a man of compassion. He put others ahead of himself. In my book, someone who puts others ahead of himself, is truly a great man. These kind of people are few and far between.

Concerning the Sermon on the Mount, that Jesus gave, it is reported that Mahatma Gandhi said to a onetime viceroy of India, Lord Irwin: “When your country and mine shall get together on the teachings laid down by Christ in the Sermon on the Mount, we shall have solved the problems not only of our countries but those of the whole world.”

Hi monojdhole, True strength is the flower of wisdom, but its seed is action: According to Mr.BARACK OBAMA :- " The true test of the American ideal is whether we're able to recognize our failings and then rise together to meet the challenges of our time. Whether we allow ourselves to be shaped by events and history, or whether we act to shape them." If you're walking down the right path an you're willing to keep walking, eventually you will make progress."

Thanks for such a good quote. The progress of a nation depends upon honest and disciplined actions of its citizens in their respective fields. Recognizing our weaknesses and converting them into strengths will definitely help us progress in the long run. That's the truth of life.

Yeah, that right action speaks louder than words applies in this case and acting happen when their is relevant thoughts about it. Though, the manner the truth is executed as normal per see depending on the situation which could uphold rights for equal treatment so when it comes to decision making only the truth prevails over nothing in a manner of conduct.

A great question posed...I believe there is one true divine but thats as far as it goes I believe that when we are blessed to be brought into this world we are blessed with life skills that we can use through action to bring not only success to our lives but also use to give to others and aid the progress of the World as a whole...We are at a stage I believe in the World where we have too many thinkers with limiting beliefs which is passed on through generations to limit their ability to change the World. Only when we realise that seeing beyond these barriers is possible do we make the changes

I am not very clear about what you exactly meant. One thing I could make out that human skills put into action may change the world. But few people having narrow thinking not only put barrier for progress themselves, but also force others not to think positively. We have to overcome these barrier and work for the peace, prosperity and progress not only for an individual but also for the whole world at large. Thaks! Keep MyLotting!

Putting it into a plain text.. As many of us see barriers to progress, we feel there is no way, and only by challenging these barriers and seeing beyond do we actually make miracles happen...demonstrated throughout our times by what we call the future and the time for technology to come to us.. only when 1 sees that the impossible to everyone else is indeed possible and dedicates to create a solution do we see changes happen
