What are you doing (if anything) to live a "greener" life?

I am in the process of putting together a eco-friendly site and am looking for real life stories to add content to my site. So please tell me what kind of changes you are or have done to "go green". If responses are really good, I may even put them on my site and send you a free gift! Besides the usual recycling and such, are they any creative things you've done? For example, do you make art out of recycled materials?

Hello leeesa. I am a teacher. You know, to work in a school, we will face a lot of wastepaper in our work. To help protect the restrictive sources we have in the world, I collect and store all the wastepaper in one corner of the office. When it is accumulated enough, I send it to the recycling place for some small money. I am very happy for this. During my daily life, I collect everything that can be recycled as well. Some of things that can be reused will be well used. I think that it is high time for us to well protect our environment and its sources. There was one time when I had a very beautiful box for moon-cakes. It was made used like a decoration and stuck on the wall of my school bedroom for years. I placed some tapes in it. Also I use some good-looking used glass bottles to raise some water plants in the house. I love to see green plants in the house as they make me feel good seeing them. Have a good day, leeesa.

We plant vegetables in our garden. one time, instead of the flowers, i thought of why not plant organic vegetables instead? so i disposed of the flowers and changed them. the vegetables are fresher and free of pesticides. except for recycling papers, we also recycle the water that we use in dishwashing, its a bit tiring, but its our way of doing exercise too! we use the water to water the plants and grasses. and sometimes water in laundry to flash the toilet

Well everything that we throw out now is sorted. The waste vegetable matter is put in our compost bin as we make our own compost. We separate paper, tin, cardboard, and glass and these get recycled separately by our local council. We also keep the heating thermostat lower and put more clothes on if we feel a bit cold. I always keep off-cuts of wood and other stuff I have left over when I am doing odd jobs around the house. These are then often re-used in other jobs. - Derek
