Have you purchased satin sheets in the past? Were they comfortable to sleep on? Do you still use them? Which do you like better, satin or cotton sheets?

I have never used satin sheets in my life upto now and probably never will at all. Satin is expensive and difficult to wash. I do not have a washing machine and all my clothes are hand washed by my maid servant and i cannot afford to give such things to her since she may tear and ruin them. In my country everyone uses cotton sheets since they are warm and easily washed and appropriate for the kind of weather that we have here. The maharajahs or kings of old used to use silk and satin as their bedsheets. Probably the rich people here maybe using satin sheets but i don`t know about that.

...Hi there veejay, You are definitely with the majority of people who prefer cotton sheets. I don't think I have ever slept on satin sheets or purchased them. I do think they are lovely to look at, the colors are pretty, but to think of sleeping on them, I just think I would be uncomfortable. I like warmth and I think the satin sheets would be cold when you first get into bed, as I remember someone else mentioning here. Thanks so much for responding. Take care.

I've never purchased satin sheets, but I have experienced them. To me, they're sort of slipslide-y. In other words, they seemed to want to slide around the bed and get bunched up and not stay tucked in. I like the t-shirt sheets -- made from the same material and feel just like a comfortable t-shirt. I've done the flannel ones too -- nice and toasty warm.

...Hi LaDeBoheme, Welcome to the ranch, enjoy yourself. Just looking at the satin sheets makes me think that they are exactly like you describe. Slippery and sliding all over. I think I may have seen the T-shirt sheets that you mention, but have never used them. I really like the flannel sheets, and think that they are the warmest that I have ever used. I really like them in the winter, though I have not purchased any in a long time. Take care and thanks for stopping by.

i prefer cotton, honestly. while satin looks nice, they always seemed cold, and where i live that's not comfortable because it usually is cold most of the time. flannel cotton is even better.

...Heyyyy scarlet_woman, Now you are talking, I had forgotten about flannel cotton sheets, they are the warmest to me also. I agree that satin sheets look rich and very colorful, but to sleep on them probably leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe one day they will make satin sheets that have some kind of woven in material that will heat up a little bit when you get in the bed, especialy in the winter. "o). Take care, thanks for your reply.
