Do you add anyone or just people you know as friends?

I personally don't add "junk" friends because I like having to deal with their posts when I don't know them well enough to want to read about their lives. I only add people I actually know and am friends with outside of the internet world. I do the same for MySpace. But I know alot of people who just add anyone who sends them a friend request.

I know what you mean! I've added a few people that I knew through friends, but ended up deleting them because they were the types of people to post what seemed like twenty million status updates every day. Ugh! It gets annoying when these people that you hardly know, who tend to update their pages and statuses a lot, flood your "news feed" with all of their stuff.

i too add friends who i know and some times i make good friend on net and talk to them many times

I only have a few people that I have known through other groups I belong to on yahoo strictly for certain games like Sorority Life, Cafe World and Farmville. There have been people who have added me because we had a mutual friend. Other than that everyone else is someone I either know from family, school, and work.

On Facebook I only add people I know in person with the exception of two internet friends I had known for a very long time (I've since met both in person). I don't add people I don't know, and I don't add people that I know but aren't particularly close to. The information you put on Facebook is often pretty valuable and can trace straight back to where you are if you aren't careful.

Well i actually never invite any one i don't know in my facebook. But it is only apply for my private facebook, since i have 2 account. I also have another account, where i put it in my blog and every one who asked me to become their friend in that account, i will approve it. I use the account for promoting things, and i have more then 1200 friend there.

I am friends on FB with people I've never met in real life, but I do know quite a lot about them anyway, enough to be interested in what they're up to in Real Life. I usually ignore people who I've met just once or twice and don't plan to meet again, or people who think I know them because I've taken a picture of them once. Or the ones who add me because they know my brother, and he's not on facebook.

Here, I got two friends who I don't know or don't remember. I don't care much about it here though. I'm only here to make a little money for myself. But on places like Facebook I only add people I know and.. well.. like. I've had two friend requests pending for a month or two because they're people.. kinda family I don't like.
