Are you suffering from insomnia

I have been suffering from insomnia for serval years. The case seems getting worse. At first, it was just a little hard for me to fall asleep sometime, and then I was used to early awakening. Now I have a rest for six hours one day in the form of light sleep. It brings me many troubles. I found my memory is getting weaker, and it's not easy to concentrate on my work. I feel listless to take part in all kinds of activities, even dislike talking with anybody. I'm taking Chinese traditional medicine which brings some good effect but also makes me more reliant on it. Insomnia still goes on, I don't know when my suffering will be over, and how?

don't worry. i have the same problem. so does millions of others. you are so not alone. maybe you could try doing exersise before you go to bed. warm milk may even help out after wards and a nice bath. if you are the kind to fall asleep watching movies, then you could put on something that you want to watch after you exersise, take your bath, while drinking your milk. if all else fails. enjoy your insomnia. you are probably just a night person by nature. i read somewhere that what time you were born, and your sleep cycles in the womb help determine your sleep cycle. i don't know if it's true. you are probably more creative at night. i know i am. i even have a group for insomniacs. that way, you will have some company during the shadow hours.if you ever want to join. hit me up on message and i will give you more info. have a great day, and sleep well when the sun rises.

Thanks for your response and advice. I think I mustn't be a night person because I'm so sensitive to light which make me broad awake. I will try my best to improve sleeping. Now I feel ashamed of complaint about my insomnia with out trying many possible means.

Insomnia is horrible. I suffer from it also but mine is because of fibromyalgia. Although I take ambien to try and sleep it doesn't do much anymore I'm still awake half the night. I really do feel for you. Because I know what it feels like exspecially when everything starts hurting because your body is so tired. Have you tried a sleep study they might be able to help you. Although my had a underlying cause sometimes the answer is very simple and can be corrected. Good luck.

Hi, zfdavid006. Welcome to myLot! I am sorry that you are suffering from Insomnia. I have never suffered from Insomnia before, well at least, not that I know of. I am usually more tired at night and then I can easily fall asleep from being so exhausted. You may need to see a doctor for your condition. I hope that you can find a cure for what your are experiencing. It must be tiresome for you not to be able to sleep like you would desire to. Take care of yourself.

Hello. I do suffer from insomnia, milder than yours. It stated when i enter medical school plus night life. Shifting schedules greatly affect my sleeping pattern. We rarely sleep because we are loads of projects and research that needs to be done in one day then a hospital duty after school. Since then i have trouble in sleeping. Now, I do have all the time to sleep but it's not easy for me to relax my mind and muscles. What i usually do to get rid of insomnia is to adjust my sleep one hour earlier than my usual sleeping time until my system adopts it. Now, i can sleep as early as 12 midnight, not bad, right? Why don't you try also this technique? Try adjusting your sleeping pattern until your body adopt it? Try also warm bath one hour before bed time and drink milk. This will help you cool down your system.

Hello zfdavid006 me too earlier had suffered from a little insomnia, but now have cured the problem.Well mine doctor suggested me to quit drinks, hard drinks and coffee, now am only on cold drinks sometimes.Even asked me to do some mediatations and yoga poses daily, to increase the energy in my body. Also asked me not to rest during day time gather some stress till night and then go to sleep.Well it worked for me, even spending time with family and freinds is worth in it.You may even try taking bath before going to bed, it makes us fresh and relaxed and easy to sleep. Hope you find this info helpful, Happy mylotting.

I suffer from it occassionally. its often anxity related though. I get restless when there is a lot going on in my mind or something to that effect. But, then again that seems to be common for just about everybody now a days. Though mine's not too bad. If I were you seak help.

Your post is very timely because now I have to drag myself out of bed because I could not sleep. I used to have insomnia when I was younger, then it just disappeared but now it is manifesting itself again. I am a very active person and I know I need to sleep. After doing a few discussions I will be trying to bring myself to sleep again.

I know exactly how you feel.I've been suffering from insomnia too but not that worst.Sometimes i only get like 2 hours of sleep. You should try getting enough exercise ,good food and try taking multivitamins too.It really helps. And maybe you could try self-hypnosis for sleeping for insomniacs out there.I've done it.LOL! It's quite effective.
