It was good to see a mainstream movie that wasn't "anti-religion" for once. Had a busy day to day but I did get out to the movies tonight and seen the new movie book of Eli starring Denzel Washington. For those of you who don't know its a post apocalyptic movie set in the not too distant future. Eli is on a mission to take the last copy left of the bible to the western side of the united states through cannibal lands and power hungry maniacs. After a war which left the earth a desolate place everyone decided that religious books needed to be destroyed and was the cause of the great war that ripped a hole in the sky and destroyed most of the planet. Eli runs into his polar opposite a man who remembers the words spoken out of the bible and is desperately searching for it to use it as a tool to enslave and expand his power. I don't want to give too much away considering it has some twists in the movie. I did like how his faith was portrayed and how he described his relationship with God its not a fire and brimstone thing but a small still quite voice that speaks to you. Of course this prophet is no powder puff and heads literally roll along with other body parts, hence the R rating. Don't expect a religious movie however because it is right up there with mad max on action. So if you have seen it what was your thoughts on the movie?

That movie looks really good to me. I was glad to read your post and get an opinion on it. I am probably going to wait until it comes to the discount movie theaters or out on DVD before seeing it, but I will certainly add it to my list of movies I need to watch. Thanks for sharing your movie review!

I know of the movie and have seen the trailers but in all honesty it just doesnt look like a movie Id be interested in..I THINK thats mainly because #1 its just not a Denzel type movie IMO and #2 I'm not a huge fan of his HOWEVER, that said, movies that hes done in the drama genre I've loved and he's done well for example Cry Freedom which was based on the life of Steven Biko...This movie though, just doesnt seem like it fits him if that makes sense..
