I am looking to organize a more structured bible study time (and possible program) for my family. I crave discussion, and my kids like projects. Do you have any suggestions? I have 4 kids ranging from 4 to 13. How did you make your family bible study successful? What kind of obstacles did you run into? How did you manage?

The biggest obstacle is probably keeping them interested and engaged. Maybe a project like building model of the ancient temple. That would be educaitonal as well! You could all memorize different things together, like the 10 commandments, or the beatitutdes, or different psalms. You could also draw pictures about different storis. Or you could make models of like Goliath or David. If I think of some more I'll send them your way.

Thank you so much for your input. I hadn't though about building models or drawing pictures of the stories. I had thought about memorization, but unsure how to go about that as well.

There are lots of techiniques for memorizing things. From spelling games, acronyms to help remember key words or making up songs. It can be really fun!I hope you and your family have a great time!
