What do you think? IF you need toilet paper would you take a roll from a public restroom? Is it a question of integrity and honesty? Or an issue of need? Would you take a roll?

Not me, I would rather use water. It's more hygenic and environment-friendly. My conscience would also protest if I do. But if I really do, I'll replace a new roll as soon as I am able to.

I agree, it may be hard to prosecute an account on public consummables but it is still stealing. It may be called disposables but unless it is in the trash can, it is still public property. Unless, of course, there are only a few pieces left on the roll. Public toilets in my country do not have this problem for they do not provide free tissue paper but have a tissue paper vending machine.

I hadn't heard of vending machines for toilet tissue. I think that might be an alternative, except how you would handle it if you didn't have any money for the vendig machine!

I haven't tried just water, but I have heard it is very effective. I do think it is stealing to just take the toilet paper from a public bathroom! Some one had to purchase it and it is still stealing to take it.

If you really need some and they have more than one roll I would think it to be alright, but not by most peoples ethical standards.

I have to say I think it is simply stealing. However, if someone is really in need, perhaps they could ask someone who works in the building or something.

well no way where I live the public toilets or restrooms don't have the nice soft toilet roll they have that shiney paper type stuff that without being too graphic just slides about on the below area's so no way would rather use some leaves if I was really struggling though if it was the nice soft stuff then yeah if I really had too, but that would be in real dire financial difficulties.

lol!It is cheaper than what I would prefer, however, if I didnt have any at all, it would be better than being without! I have used leaves, and would prefer cheap toilet paper.Although, I am not saying it is right to take it from a public restroom!

I can't see where anyone would ever have to take a roll of toilet paper from a rest room. That is to me steeling and definitely not being honest. I would not take a roll at all.

I agree that it is stealing. However I can say I've been in a tight spot or two and could have been tempted!
