I just watch this fantastic movie which are currently blockbuster movies, mainly the Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and Alvin and the Chipmunk 2. So far I have a great time comparing the three movies. They were all great and deserves some recognition that really left each audiences to ask for more...Those movies are simply fabulous and I really enjoy a lot watching it with my friends. Though, their are quite annoying situation which one could encounter in watching movies. Despite the movies is good, I could not quite concentrate as lot of people are talking loud, loud cellphone ringing, then some get up and get down to get snacks and so on..Aside from their is no enough leg room and the surround sound is not really magnify. So their is an endless laughing and loud voices talking. So those are my observation as fun is concern it is fine but sometimes their are also disadvantages. Because, it is a blockbuster movies lot of people are standing on the back side and some are rude. How about you, What do you think are the problems encounter when watching movies inside the cinema? Kindly shares your thoughts. thanks 1-18-10

Common are the crowd and if you really like to enjoy your movies without too much noise you could instead rent or buy a DVD or watch it at the end of the week where their would be less people vying for seat.

hi fan, yup, rent or buy is not my forte since if i already watch the movies the cd just add to the bulkiness in my room. they become useless when after t is watch unless one could trade them to a friend or conduct a least a garage sale where you could sell all those stuffs which you no longer need. thanks

hi neel^^;; long time no see(hugs*hugs) how are u my friend? i haven't seen since the holidays, and when you're back, i think i was the who wasn't here anyway, u have mentioned all the annoyances inside the theater. i really hate those don't turn off or out their cellphones in silent mode. and yes, the people standing and buying snacks and like having a feast inside instead of concentrating to understand and enjoy the movie sucks. i hope, our theater would impose rules like other countries that we can only eat popcorn that is in a paperbox and not snacks in plastics that create sounds so, sometimes we watch movies during the last show hours on weekdays because people are less

hi lucky, my dear, how your vacation? it's been a long time since I bump in you here. How you doing lately? Just like me I am bouncing here again..hahahaha Likely those are the annoyance which anyone could encounter and it is quite disturbing when you are in the climax then the other people beside you create a noise that you hardly hear the real movies sound. yeah, the last full show or during the last weekend showing is the good day to watch as you reason out their were would be less people watching as most already had watch it. have a great day!

hi lakota, Watching movies at home is also preferable since it is less expensive than watching movies in the theater and since it is your home you could do whatever you like without disturbance from other people.

Well, most cinemas have a warning to audiences on cell phones but not on talking loud. I wish they have. Here in the city, most of the cinemas are nice and strictly seating capacity. You only have to pay a little higher but its worth it.

That a good thing and just hope other movie goers would follow it seriously if not then they really are happy to annoy peace loving movie goers.

Sometimes the seats are ruined or wet from spilled sodas. People kicking your seats or talking loudly. Sometimes they block your view if they are taller than you. Cellphones ringing.

Thoise are very nasty sights so I really need to bring with me flashlight just to insure the seat are clean before seating in it. Avoiding such annoying situation could bring quite relief.

Hi neelianoscet!^^ That is why I only watch movies in malls with good theaters/cinema. I love watching movies in the big screen especially movies with a lot of special effects. I pick cinemas with good surround system, airconditioning system, and nice seats. ^^ There are some cinemas here that play a reminder before the start of a movie that reminds people to turn off or silent their cellphones first before the movie starts to avoid disturbing other audiences. Some problems I have encountered though, first is the head.^^;; There was an unfortunate time when I got a seat at the back of a tall guy and after the movie, my neck was stiff and aching because I couldn't clearly see with that guy's head in front of me. .

hi secretbear, That a good choice of you. Watching in high standard cinemas where the strict policy is done before the start of the show begin is a good things. It makes watching movies inside a cinema a good experience to reckon to. Having a nice companion it could be fun to loosen then just enjoy the atmosphere with all those amenities being offer equally makes the experience awesome..

YOu know why I don't like to watch at the cinema before, there are lots of pervert in the cinema, I mean people watching like you. When they know you are alone they will take advantage of you. And have you heard of a man injecting viewer inside the cinema. It was reported before that there were one man have injection and once he was beside with someone, he inject them. That injection contain his fluid and he has aids. I was alarmed when I heard that. That was in the year 1990's. I was scared. That avoids me to watch on theatre, but it stopped when I was in college. I was annoyed also with the lights of the mobile. You know when you are watching inside the theatre the lights are turned off, but when you see a light even little light, you will turned and look at it. It divides your concentration in the movie and in that light. Your attention was moved on the light rather than on the movie. Also some of the distraction are the people who likes to stand up, like they are going on the restroom, I know that is not bad once, but irritating if they do it thrice. Like they just watch to visit the bathroom? I also get annoyed by children on the cinema, the crying and the juvenile reaction of them, I can't concentrate to watch. People talking on the phone and those who can't sit properly. Those are the disadvantage I see.

I heard that and so I also avoid watching in the cinemas alone. I rather watch with a companion. Also do not like a strangers to sit beside me then asking me anything so I move to another chair when I feel being taken disadvantages. So it is best to watch movies in the home theater although it may be late for the latest movies to be watch. Still it is better option to escape from those annoyance.

I am happier getting a DVD and watching it at home. The problems in the movies are that I get uncomfortable in the seats after a while, particularly during a long film. I usually end up with a pain in my neck having to see around the heads in front of me, and sometimes it's too hot or too cold in there. And finally it's quite expensive. So I will usually wait until a DVD has come down in price, buy it for a lot less than it would cost me to see in the movies, and then when I've done with it, put it up on ebay and get most of my money back! - Derek

Good thing you have one way to earn form already used DVD while in my place they just pile on high cases till they reach the ceiling. They are so many pirated DVD in myplace that is another earning sources of income for most people. They are cheap though illegal they could make a lot of money just selling it to people who prefer it rather than watching in cinemas though the quality is sacrifice.

Well, those are the common problems faced by many movie goers ^_^ IT's normal.. BUt over here, we do have a message flashing on the screen, reminding audience to switch off our phones, or silent our phones, so as not to disturb others.. hehe ^_^ IT's a good move though, but not everybody tends to follow it.. lol =D Luckily, most ple are still kinda considerate, and thus it's not as bad.. hehe ^_^ As for ple walking around, getting snacks etc, or even toilet breaks, it's something we cant stop them, as it's their freedom.. haha =D

Yup. they are normal though one need to be patience during the movie show since one do not own the place so everyone could do their own things. Even with those warning many still have their cellphone sound turn on and they quite fancied it. So if you happen to sit beside them their is no way to escape those noise unless they too are too absorb with the show. And that the only hassles one encounter those couples who are instead of focusing on the movies they have something in their mind not only merely watching but also have other activities on hand..

Well there are two reasons why I rarely go to the cinema these days, the first of which is that sitting for that long in a cinema is too uncomfortable for me. Someone really needs to launch a cinema which has armchairs in it instead of those hard seats. The second reason why I rarely go is the pure number of inconsiderate people who will talk through a movie, throw food at you or often kick the back of your seat. I don't understand it as I go to the cinema to watch a movie not to chat with other people, if you want to do that go somewhere else. I actually think inconsiderate people is the main cause of why so many people don't go to the cinema anymore along with the fact that even if you complain the management tend not to do anything about it.

That have quite a little space for movement of the knee and it add to the uncomfortably position with lack of enough spaces for legs. Also you could have annoying moviegoers who could just sit beside you then are so noisy. Also with lack of strict rules from the management of the cinema itself since they operate under profit in their mind so any complain just go to deaf ear most of the time.

A few of the distractions that I can think of when we go to the movie theater are: 1. Talking 2. Noisy children when I go to a movie with my daughter. 3. People using their cellular phones to text others throughout the entire movie. 4. People walking past you while you are trying to watch the move. 5. Did I mention Talking?!?!

That really the common observation. the one things which annoy me when people just stand up then leaving their snack most of the time. it may be an annoying sights which I dislike the most aside from the overwhelming noise created by people who is rude and arrogant most of the time acting like they own the places.

When in cinemas of our locality, I also experience these problems. There are some people who are insensitive about others. They are so selfish that they don't care about the problems they make to others. They only want to enjoy the movie as their own. They make noise by chatting with each other, making loud and indecent comments over specific scenes, whistle at hot scenes, litter peanut shells scattering around etc.

yeah very true and the best things to do is to install your own big Tv inside your home. You could enjoy both of the best in the world. having family as a groups to watch is more enjoyable than with the presence of lot of strangers which is very annoying.

some people are just so annoying. they don't seem to have some cinema etiquette.. when i go to the cinema the first thing i do before entering the room is turning off my cellphone.. if i can't turn it off completely i put it on vibration mode so if anyone is calling me, i would be able to answer it.. if someone is calling, i leave the cinema or go to the powder room to answer the call. people should have some considerations when watching movie in cinemas its not as if they are in their own houses where they could do anything they want..
• Philippines

Yeah, they are people who are so happy making other people lives miserable. I do think one could not really have no right to deselect the people since cinemas mostly operate for profit. Though their are rules some are just so happy to break the rules. The most comfortable things to do is to watch movies in your home. it just feel lucky if you could find cinemas where most of the audiences are well discipline then watching movies outside could be a lot of fun.

I like this discussion very much as it has given me the chance to vent out what is fuming in my heart.I am a Hollywood movie buff.I have been unable to enjoy some of the best movies because of the relentless loud talk from the people siting behind me.If they do not talk they keep pushing my seat from back by trying to alternate their legs or heaven knows what.It gets on my nerves all the time.If I am lucky enough to get a seat in the last row where there will be no one to disturb me from behind the cat calls and restless loud talk from the front benchers who are unable to understand even a single word of the movie.I always used to wonder what makes to come to a movie they do not understand and enjoy. And my wonder doubles at why should these morons spend to disturb others?

hi balastri, I experience the same things when the movies is so wide acclaim as blockbuster movies. Most of the time I am left in the standing position or sit on the back of the aisle under the top stairs. Then still annoying with the back of me is the air con. It makes me shiver all the time then the speakers is near me. it makes me listen to loud sounds which could be deafening. So just a disturbance very annoying could test any person patience to be calm or wild depending on your level of understanding of the environment around you taking time to adopt to the place.

i think you had mentioned all the problems that we encountered when we went to the cinema... that's why i prefer to watch a movie from home rather than going to a cinema... it is also expensive to go to a cinema nowadays and with all the nuisances that you had mentioned, it is just not worth it... it is much more cheaper and more enjoyable to watch DVDs at home... take care and have a nice day...

Yeah, I hate when people talk in cinema, it makes you unable to concentrate on the movie. I also find eating in cinema annoying. There is some serious scene and suddenly someone beside you starts to munch or rustle. It makes me so angry! Putting other people behaviour aside there's a problem I have with 3D movies. When I go to cinema I have to wear glasses since I'm short-sighted. And when you watch 3D movies you have to wear those special glasses. So I have to put them on those normal ones - it's really uncomfortable.

very true all things you mention happen most of the time since you never own the cinemas you could not really implement such rules to select only people who have discipline and totally aware not to annoy other people inside the cinemas. It really depend on the person watching some just need a lot of privacy while others could adopt even in annoying environment. thanks.

Hi Neel, I am distracted with those moviegoers who are lovers doing some romantic intimacy while watching the movie even if the movie is comedy, action or drama. you can even hear then kissing with sounds oh..lalalala! another thing is having side discussions or small talk--either related to the film or other things. another thing is ringing of cellphone and people answering the phone where you can hear their discussion.

Yeah, those are the stuffs which annoy me most of the times when they have other places where they could make such public display of affection. Some just could not get that it is a place for entertaining and not a place fro them to exhibit their own amorous feeling when the other movie goers need to concentrate on the movie itself not to watch them with their next moves. Some really have born with no gentle manner so it happen your one of the people who could lose patience with those scenery but nothing could do so to avoid it since they have their own freedom of expression but just content to watch until they get over.

Like you, mainly the problems are people talking loudly (or laughing at the wrong times), or cellphone ringing and people smuggling food that smells (not badly but it just gets into your nose and will makes you real hungry). There are also people who like to "jump seats". They brought tickets into the cinema for Seat A, B, C but they jump to Seat P, Q, R. And when the rightful ticket owners came, they have to shift back to their original seats. It's not a problem for me as long as they aren't sitting on mine and if they don't do it when the show has already begun, else it's really very upsetting to be blocked. But I was a victim of those people who jump seats and someone along that seats thought my friends and I were like a nuisances and "shh-ed" us while we were trying to figure what has gone wrong because based on what I have memorized, our seats which we were staying right in front us were filled with another couple. In the end, we missed like 15 mins of the show as we went outside to ask the attendants to come in and assist us and only to find out that indeed our seats were where it was supposed to be.

hi warvial, Yeah, those are the annoyance inside the theater if one have no patience it would surely drives them mad. So it is best to watch movies when you know the place is well maintain and the audiences have a lot of discipline learning to keep the other viewers at peace while enjoying the movies.Because it is a theater one could not really control those people who love to make a noise or just a go getting attention like they own the place when both have no ownership on it. When you really feel not comfortable then it is best to watch movies at home where you feel more safe and could enjoy watching movies the most.
