Men like Dr. King are rare these days. He would be appaled at the words and actions of some of todays activists. Men like Jessie jackson and Al Sharpton would do well to sit back and reflect on the things that Dr. King truly believed and stood for. Self sufficiancy, inclusiveness and an equal playing field rather than entitlements, "get back at them" mentality and reverse discrimination.

I honestly believe that many of todays activists in the black community in this country are actualy acting in ways that undo a lot of what King did. Things like affirmative action, hate crimes laws and such only fuel resentment and create the apearence of a "sense of entitlement" which only sets race relations back 50 years. I have also noticed a great deal of acusations of racism where it simply doesn't exist. Mostly surrounding our current president. It seems when anyone has an objection to a particular action or policy of his, the first thing out of some mouths is "your just mad because we have a back president!" It's disgusting, an I am fairly confident that Dr. King would have found such cries disgusting and counter productive as well. "I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" ~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
