I think he's jealous we got there first. What do you think? http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE60G2DW20100117?feedType=RSS&feedName=worldNews&rpc=22&sp=true

Yeah, Chavez has sent a grand total of ONE plane of supplies. He's quite the hero. Funny how the people that do the least are so fast to criticize us. Here's a nice article on what 'The Great Satan' is doing for Haiti as opposed to some of our critics. : http://www.billoreilly.com/show;jsessionid=D64BF22B07AC55D543403F72F848351E?action=viewTVShow&showID=2516#1

He only sent one plane load of supplies? Do you know how rich his country is? They could afford to have send a whole lot more than that. Yet he wants to complain because the US is doing more for Haiti than he is.

Funny how the people that do the least are so fast to criticize us isnt that the way of it? No matter what we would have done, this would have been the response.

I think Chavez may have a point, actually, though I don't think it's necessarily an invasion in the classic sense. If anyone has read 'The Shock Doctrine' (Naomi Klein), they will understand that economic warfare is much more damaging in the long-term... The IMF has already imposed conditions on its 'emergency loan' which represent the neo-liberal's wet dream; I just hope Haitian don't end up as shafted as the victims of the Boxing Day tsunami. The troops will serve a useful purpose, I have no doubt; but they will also guard the 'security' of private property and real estate, once it's sold to the hawks.

but they will also guard the 'security' of private property and real estate, once it's sold to the hawks. Thats exactly it. They are keeping order and keeping people as safe as can be in such conditions.

He can only make himself look good by attacking what others do. He does not understand what it means to be charitable. He only does what is best for him with no concern for others.

And if the USa didn't go into Haiti, someone would complain that we weren't doing enough to help a country poorer than us. The way I see it, no matter what we do, someone will find an excuse to complain.

If we didnt go in, then we were ignoring people in need. If we sent less, we were being greedy. If we send more, we are buying Haiti. You just cant win in this situation,

I don't think Chavez gives a hoot about Haiti. If he did, he would have been trying to help them ages ago. Chavez just sees this as an opportunity to denigrate the United States. He's a pathetic little man.

Your "pathetic little tyrant" is a better description than my "pathetic little man." Thanks for correcting me. Chavez isn't a man, he's a tyrant. To be a man, one must have a high degree of goodness or worth and he doesn't.

I was waiting for this one. Why? Well because we sent the army and other military forces in not only help with aid but to also keep the peace. SO yes the US has aid workers there. Yes we have doctors and other things....but we also have armed soliders to stop the looting and fighting. To restore some kind of order. It is only until the UN peace keepers can get in there. But of course some country was going to look at this way....I saw this one coming a mile away. I just was not sure WHICH country it was that was going to accuse us of it.

I am not surprised it was him either. He does not really have a lot of room to talk. His country is rich enough to help out a lot more than it is. But yet he wants to complain that we have not only given more money and aid...but we are trying to stabilize the country. You know the rest of the world is just laughing at his statement and IS NOT taking him seriously.
