Please let me explain...Mum has had this ongoing problem for some time now with her Hoover Washing Machine that has since been discontinued (surprise, surprise). Well, in a nutshell, this washing machine does not perform as well as it should and is not user-friendly. I have used it and...she's right, it can wash clothes for 3 hours if the programme isn't JUST SO. The worst part is, if the programme is wrong the machine does not tell you...in other words, you have to wait for the machine to finish. This is not good and Mum has had a large electricity/gas bill this time..which has prompted me to spring into action. Well folks, I've always been good at WRITING letters to companies complaining about certain products. I remember once that Norweb (as it was then) fixed my hi-fi and VCR for free due to my letter to the Chairman of the company. That's exactly what I've done with Hoover. Mum probably won't get a replacment washing-machine out of them but it would be good PR for them if she did!Have you ever complained about something and received more than you expected in return?

Hello Janey, Really sorry that your mom is having such problems with her washing machine. Ive complained before. I bought this HP computer. After about 3 months, the thing wouldnt work anymore. HP said to send it in...I did, waited, waited, finally after a month, I called them and they said they couldnt find it. So I called head office and told them my story. Surprise, Surprise, they could find it but they said it had been dropped and therefore NOT covered. I called the head office again, spoke to someone high up and since it wasnt that far from where I lived, I told him Id drive down there and tell him what I thought of his customer service to HIS FACE. I can talk like a truck driver when I want to. (nothing against truck driver, this is just an expression). They had kept me waiting for 6 months. I had to buy another computer and I was NOT a happy one at all. This last phone call with the promise that Id drive there did do the trick. They sent me a check for a full refund, said I could keep the monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. They then called me asking if I was pleased with the refund and if I was interested in buying another HP pc. Im sure you can guess my answer. I also told them that whenever I could, Id tell anyone to NOT buy one. I usually can manage to get my money back or the product replaced with a new one. I have a bad temper, I can get very angry when I know Ive been cheated. I must look like Hulk when Im angry since I get what I want lol.

You're not an Aries like me are you by any chance? Another Fire Sign perhaps? I ask this because I'm the same. I cannot stand it if I know that I am right about a product and customer services tries to fob me off. Mum is also having problems with Talk Talk (as I have mentioned in another discussion) so she's frustrated that January is becoming the usual dismal month she seems to have every year! I have sent the letter to Hoover (which I read out to Mum over the phone) and I also have a letter ready for Talk Talk if she gets no satisfaction with them either!

Im a taurus/capricorn. I hate it too and I sure hope you'll be able to get the problem fixed for your mom. As for talk talk....sorry but I dont know what that is. I know for a fact that if you call and you get some operator, dont waste your time with that person, ask to talk to someone in charge, her/his superior. You want the big cheese to talk to and then you threaten the daylight out of him/her lol. Good luck and let me know how it goes for your mom.
