Hi my Dear myLotter Friends, Here are a few tips to be a good conservationist:- 1. Begin a conversation with an approached/known person. Be warm and interesting. Go to the person, smile and begin-like:: "This coffee is Superb...have you tried it???" 2. Appreciation is always welcome. You can always find something nice to say about a person. Do it gracefully: "That's a lovely shirt. Yellow is my favorite color. Where did you buy it from?" 3. Avoid personal question or remarks. 4. Don't go on talking. Let other person also speak. 5. Be a good listener. Listen carefully with full attention. 6. Don't talk about yourself constantly. Never boast. Continuous blabbering about what you know/did will hardly interest anybody. 7. Encourage other person to talk to by asking about the subject/area of their interest. 8. Be tactful while conversing. If you see a dispute developing, avoid taking sides. 9. After the conversation, be pleasant: "It's been very nice chatting with you." or: " This has been the most pleasant talking with you". or: " I am sorry I'd miss such nice chatting but I have to go now." Keep smiling and Happy myLotting...

Hi tuni902! These are some very good points! I tend to use point #2 a lot, myself. I brag on people at church and other places all the time. I especially like colorful things and if I think something they are wearing is pretty, I tell them. It's just always been a habit with me. Kathy.
