"Happiness is the best revenge"

How true do you think this saying is? I was listening to this song by Theory of a Deadman, and this is one of the main parts of the chorus. I think it's totally true! Although a little contradictory. If you're happy, shouldn't you not care about getting revenge on someone? I always thought revenge was stooping very low & was only done by an insecure person. *shrugs*.

I don't know the song or the intent of the line. The way I see it is that "happiness is the best revenge" in the sense that whatever someone else does, we stay happy. We don't let what another person says or does ruin our happiness. That's the life principle I try to live by. Let the one that says or does something negative have the problem.
