How often do you add Tags? Do you think it's important?

I was just thinking that I add tags maybe 40% of the time, since I don't always think that there's one that will be helpful. So maybe I should do it more than I do now. How about you? Do you add tags to every comment you make or just once in awhile?

i always add the tags whenever it's asked. whether starting a discussion, responding or adding comments... whenever tags are requested i usually add 1-3 tags.
i guess it's not imposed but would be helpful if we add tags.
meaningful tags help the system sort out and organize discussions and messages in mylot. you can check out the FAQs about tagging. more than 2.2 million discussions were already started since its inception and when a mylotter is looking for a particular topic or discussion, careful tagging can help. it's how some of the related discussions on the side of the page came about.
so yes, i think there's importance to it. otherwise it wouldn't have been necessary for mylot to mention it.

Good for you! Sounds like you go about thinks from a very organized perspective. Thanks for sharing, I learned alot from all the comments and very much want to use mylot to it's best ability. The better the site works, the better it is for each of us. I have reviewed the FAQ's but it's still helpful to get the feedback directly from others so thanks for sharing your ideas!

I've always added tags but the problem is i keep forgetting to separate tags using commas as im used to only using spaces. Hope that won't reflect negatively on me ):

LOL, I am very sure it will not! I have done that too. Maybe you should add that as a suggestion. I know I'm more used to using spaces between too! Thanks for sharing - Be well!!

I usually add tags (unless the tags I see are relevant and descriptive enough). I rarely, however, add tags at the 'Add tags' screen. I generally wait until I'm back at the discussion and then see what new tags are worth adding.
Provided that they are relevant to the discussion, most tags are helpful. They should be of the 'keyword' type (normally one or two words only) but not necessarily words which actually occur in the discussion body. If I were writing a discussion about, say, MS Word, I might not use the words 'word processor' or 'software' in the discussion itself but it would be relevant to include them as tags.
Tags are the way that other, similar discussions are found and listed either below or alongside one's own discussion. I use this feature frequently, since I like to look at older discussions on the same subject (which may not be duplicates, of course).

You make some great points! Thanks for sharing. I'm still abit new and really appreciate learning from more senior mylotters. And I think your idea of tagging after you have seen the other comments and tags makes alot of sense!

I make sure I at least add one tag. Lately, I find myself just skipping that route and going straight into another discussion. It may be that I'm more productive without the tagging. If necessary I will put a little effort but most of the time, not needed for me nowadays. If it's worth it to gain a few extra money points, I might go all in. :)

LOL, I can certainly understand that money is a motivator! Some days I am really good about adding them and others not so much. Take care!!

I add tags... about 5% of the time.
. I totally fail at this aspect of myLot, I'm not gonna lie about that. I largely feel like it's a waste of time. It doesn't really increase your earnings, but it does help organize myLot && make it easier to search for discussions. But I honestly rarely do it. It's not really a requirement.

Thank you for being honest!! I just occured to me today that mostly I skip them. Depending on whether I think it will help someone find the discussion or my comment is what makes the difference for me. I don't use the search feature too much so I didn't think about how it helps organize things there, that's a great point!

Hi Tallygirl,
If I response and/or comment to others discussions, I rarely leave a tag on that discussions. But if I starting a new discussion, I would definitely tagged it. Leaving a tag to you discussion would make it easier to find and it can appear in others related discussions. It would be listed on the right hand side of that discussions -----------------------.
Tagged is actually make it easier for us to find our discussions because we can use the search box to locate it. We just need to search it base on the tag that we write on that discussion.
