Has anyone else noticed this? I was actually at Macy's today putting out new merchandise (working) and I was stuck in Polo Ralph Lauren - and we're already putting out SWIMMING TRUNKS. I've also noticed at stores like Target & Hollister, winter clothes are already going on clearance and making way for pastel-y, floral, spring + summer clothes?
I don't know where YOU all live, but I'm in Minnesota in the US and I'm shocked by this, because January is just about the BEGINNING of our very long winter season.
Does anyone else find the fact that stores are already planning for summer CRAZY? What stores have YOU seen this at?

Yea, it just snowed last week in Tennessee & my pond is still frozen.Time to think about going swimming right? That's what Walmart seems to think anyways.
That's O.K. though. It just means they start clearancing winter stuff early enough I can actually use it.

This drives me CRAZY. If for some reason you need to go out and buy something "warm" you cannot find it in the stores anymore. I mean what if something happens to your winter jacket or your favorite pair of pants you want to replace - it's impossible to go into the stores and by them by February because all of the stock is changed over to spring/summer. It also makes me sick to see swimming suits out in the stores already. I'm all bundled up .. in 5 layers... I don't want to be thinking about trying something like that on! LOL I will start shopping for spring/summer items probably no earlier than March. Usually I start buying things like that more so in May. Sad thing is if you wait too long... like say actually buying those items in the summer, you may not be able to find them! lol
I'll never understand the stores reasons for putting merchandise for the different holidays/seasons out like they do. It's a mystery to me! lol

I know! The only good aspect of it is that a lot of wintery stuff goes on clearance and so it's a good time to get a new winter coat and whatnot right now..But I know what you mean! Come June, when the weather actually starts permitting summer clothes, they'll probably be stocking fall and winter clothes. I think retailers forget that not all of us live in California, you know?
