Excuses! Excuses!

there are lots of days when we feel like not going to work or to class just because we don't feel like it or because of some other petty reasons. but, when it comes to explaining to our boss or teachers the reason why, we make up justifiable excuses like getting sick, a family emergency, diarrhea... etc. what is the reason that you usually give to your boss or professors why you were absent?

i'm not really good at telling lies. i'm a good employee so i'm seldom absent from work. however there was just one time when nobody could look after my sick niece coz her nanny didn't give an advance notice. so i just volunteered to take good care of her and use 'dysmenorrhea' as the cause of my absence.

All the while I'm quite a good girl. I won't take sick leave unless I'm really sick. But there was once my friend taught me that the best excuse is saying you're having a stomachache because even a doctor cannot diagnose whether you're really having a stomachache.

most of the people do have the habit of making excuses when it comes to doing some work. I think whenever someone make excuses it is because they are not passionate about that work.

I always come in 1++ hour late to work, but I never got scold by my boss. As long as I do my work it is fine. However, I do making excuses if I want to get home early or taking the half day work. Just recently, I said I am going to the bank for some stuff but the truth is I am bored and just want to hang out at home. Sometimes I don't have any work to do especially when the boss is outstation.

Well, I don't really have a job yet (still in high school and no one nearby is hiring kids at the moment) but once I told my teacher that I was late to class because a giant clown car had smashed into the side of our house. Of course that didn't happen, but it was one of those things that was so random and obscure that she figured it had to be real!

I usually say that I am sick. I would call my boss, cough a little, make my voice sound rough, then tell him that I'm having a flu.. and then cough some more. He probably knows that I'm just giving him the BS, but hey I'm entitled for sick leaves.
