I came out with this topic because 4 days ago i went to a physician to have physical checkup and i asked a friend of mine if she know someone who can attend my complaint (specialist)so, she refer me to their family doctor. I was having a second thought because the physician don't know anything about my medical history and her physician name is unfamiliar but still i went on. After the check up the physician right down the medicines that i need to take without waiting for laboratory result. So, i took the medicines yesterday and suffer from terrible pain. I can't breathe, palpitated, stomach upset, vomited until dawn, feel cold, sweating, lost of appetite, dehydrated, had a hearing problem for a while and etc. I was almost rushed to ER due to side effects of the medicines. Until now i didn't received any information about the laboratory result! I am now traumatize and and promise to my self never trust any physician again without a recommendation coming from our family doctor. Never again! Do you trust easily to the physician recommended by your friends? Do you decide right away to have check up with your fiends physician? Have you ever encountered this kind of problem? Wrong medication???

hello simone... i am very late for this discussion of yours but i hope by this moment you are already fine & recovered. well, i don't usually go to the doctor and i don't trust them right away. whenever they told me this & that, i always opt for 2nd opinion. but i don't have any experience like yours since i don't go to the doctor that often. now, as you know i am having some issues with my health according to one doctor, and so i need to go for another one to ask for second opinion hoping that the other one just make a mistake...huh! its been a week or two i guess since the doctor told me about his findings but i was not able to go to another doctor for another check up coz i am still getting more courage... but anyway, i don't feel anything bad on my body and i think the more i think about the findings the weaker i get so i just don't think about it that much...for now. back to you... so what are your plns with regards to your friend's doctor that gives you a wrong medication? thanks God that nothing more serious happens to you and that you are still here with us... i hope for your fast recovery and for good laboratory results... my prayers is with you my friend...

Hi there. I went to the physician two days ago to inform her what happened to me after taking the prescribed medicines and she said "sana hinati mo na lng"I don't know if she's serious or not about that statement. Shes crazy. She prescribe me another medicine but i haven't bought it yet. Anyway, if you're in doubt try for a second opinion. It is better than sorry. My partner was in denial and ignore her illness and now she's suffering from her acts. It's painful to see her suffering... I hope as soon as possible God will give you strength to under go another test. Let's hope that your physician come up with wrong diagnosis.

thank you. I'm back and kicking. Oh, that's good. So you don't have to worry that much. Yes, she is sick for a long time that's why we decided not to allow her to go back to her work. She spend more than a year in the hospital. She's workaholic. The photo you saw was taken after she was discharged in the hospital, as i mentioned before she has 2 private duty nurse. This is one of the reasons why her family won't allow me to see her. We still hoping for her fast recovery in able to do all those things she misses. She's experiencing emotional turmoils due to sudden change of her life style. I know her brothers and sisters giving the best medical attention she needed. I told her if she's strong and healthy i want to see her cheer dancing because i haven't seen her doing those tricks personally. I hope and pray that my teddy surpass all these trials...

I’ve never had anything happen like you have but I have encountered doctors who are not as good as others. There are some GPs that don’t take the time needed to consult with patients because they are intent on seeing as many as they can in a day! I am a believer in second opinions and I don’t hesitate to ask for as many as I need and to go to different doctors until I’m happy. My advice is when you find a good medico stick to that one! I do hope you are feeling much better, it sounds like you had quite an ordeal!

Yes because I do believe that doctors are equally equiped with knowledge and experiences. But for medical concern that requires specific expertise, I am more comfortable with specialists than the generalists doctors. Health concern is never a joke.

Hi simonelee. We've run into a little trouble, esp when we go to a specialist. I feel that a thought everyone should consider is this: God should be the top one in charge of your body, then you, then your physician. First ask God what to do, then follow through with what He says. If you have to go to a doctor, if you feel uncomfortable with taking a therapy or medication then you have the option not to. Let God be in charge, you in second command and the doctor a helper knowing that he/she most certainly can err.
