Have you experienced idle time in the office, when you're waiting for a project or file to be assigned by your boss and have absolutely nothing to work on? I hate idle time because it makes the hours longer. What do you do to kill time?

I like to kill time by doing something healthy for myself. If I have a few minutes to wait for something, I will wander the stairwells or the halls, burning off a few extra calories and stretching my muscles. Or I'll exercise my eyes by focusing on things at various distances, so that I don't develop vision trouble from constantly looking at a computer screen. Or I'll just take a walk to the water cooler and daydream while having a nice tall glass of water. It's nice to take these short "me" times when you're waiting for a project to land on your desk again, and I'm grateful for the moments (though seldom!) that actually come along!

That's inspiring. I usually take a walk too, but our time to go outside the office is limited to one hour. I really like your response. :-)

Hi, well most of the time.. to kill time i do something productive which is fun at the same time. To kill time you should relax your mind and do what u do best. I would advise you to take a book if you enjoy reading to your office or draw. If i were you, i'd listen to music. Hope it helps:)

Yes, those are good options. However, my mp4 player is broken and I don't have a book with me in the office. That's why I'm really bored. But thanks for the response. :-)

I do not have such an experience. Usually if we have a file to be assigned, it won't take long before it is signed. If I really feel bored, I will read news online from my mobile phone. Have a good day, arystine.

To kill time, at work, I do myLot. I'm currently in a position where our job is more reactive. When there is nothing happening on the floor, when there are no issues or no problems, it tends to get boring. Mylot sure makes the time fly fast.

The irrevocable fact is we can't kill the time. But only thing we can do is the best utilization of the time we are having. Thus we can live our life with true satisfaction.
