I want an LCD. My CRT monitor is still working, but I really want an LCD. I've made a lot of changes on my desktop computer; replacing my old monitor is my utmost goal. I bet you also want an LCD monitor.

It is really better than CRT and I have to admit that LED is much better than LCD... but costlier too..! IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY A LCD MONITOR, GO FOR SAMSUNG OR VIEWSONIC... Those are the bset ones now! I do not want to replace anything on my pc as of now! I wanna add on 2 GB of RAM !

hi kar295rocks, I really envy you, 4 LCDs!!! Though, I also want to increase my computer's RAM, but I eyeing right now more on LCD. The price is lowering as the screen gets bigger; hopefully, I'll get mine this year (can't lose hope).

Nothing. After replacing my batteries (on a laptop here), I'm currently satisfied with my machine. My old batteries had a ridiculous short life (couldn't even last through one class), but now everything works fine. I had an LCD monitor on my desktop, and it was waaaaay better than the bulky, heavy old type. Prettier, too.

Yes, I would like a new LCD monitor although I am using a 17" LCD monitor. But I would like to have a sound card. Currently, I am using sound card that comes with my motherboard. Have been wanting to get my hands on any of the Creative sound card, because it can helps to improve sound quality (or so I heard).

I would like to change my OS. I will soon replace my XP into a 64bit WIndows 7 after I finish downloading it. It's licensed and free for all the IT students in our university. In terms of hardware, I want a new system unit (most peaople call it CPU but the right term is system unit specially here in Phil). I dont like my current motherboard since it only have 2 slots for memory which is not ideal for 64bits since it can now handle more than 4GB of memory and my cor 2 duo processor into a faster quadcore processor. Oh I also want a laser jet printer. I got this HP cartridge thingy. I would like to upgrade my LCD monitor to something bigger. Maybe I want to change it way too much but dont blame me for being an IT student! LOL. I bet every IT students wants best computer for them.

I have a laptop so replacing parts is nearly impossible. But if I could replace anything I'd replace my video card with a better one. I'm satisfied with the speed and storage space I've got now, but I have some problems loading certain games with the video card I have now.

My whole computer needs replaced. The CPU sounds like its diesel powered and about to choke. The wireless components suck down the batteries at an incredible rate. The printer is bottom line. My screen and speakers are fine I guess...

That's huge, may be you're doing lots of things (gaming, graphics, blogging, etc). I guess I would be content with 2 GB but if I must then adding some more would be my last resort.

katkat oh by all means get an LCD as you will just love it, I have appreciated my new monitor so much its slim and big screened and moves with one hand, its just plain awesome,my old crt was still working but was old and on its way out and the screen was so tiny, this is just wonderful, you will really love it.My son gave it to me for Christmas and it was on sale, really a wonderful gift too. Now I would like a modern windows or whatever is the newest thing I have windows 2000 which works fine bu t is going to be phased out so need a new more modern one.

Your son, has an eye for gadgets since he knows what's best for you. Gadgets seem to be the must-have gift for Christmas for the past few years. Here in Philippines cell phones are the typical gifts in terms of technology, since cell phones are becoming more affordable. You really love your LCD. I can tell it by the way you describe; your elation is quite evident even through words. LCD is in my Christmas wish list, but apparently it remained in the list. Well, I could give myself a gift, can't I? But an LCD would be a hefty gift in size and price, especially right now that I'm in a tight position. May you keep on enjoying your LCD. I wonder what gadget will you receive this Christmas?

i'll prefer a crt over lcd anytime cause 1- a crt is better for gaming than lcd.colors are moe vivid than lcd..and im an insane gamer 2-crt has no bad viewing angles, no matter from which angle you look at it, its all same..something that you wont find in any lcd 3-lcds are prone to scratches something that crts arent

Is that true? Well, I won't figure that since I don't have an LCD and I'm not a gamer. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing a different perspective in terms of types of the monitors. Most of the responses I received favor LCD than CRT; in fact, someone has four LCDs. Still, I'd like to have an LCD so that I can tell difference myself, but advice and opinion are all welcome, no matter how different from mine.

Yes I also like one. But what I want the most is a dvd burner. There are lots things to burn/save. And I also want a new modem. :)

LCD is something but DVD burner is essential. I can see where you're coming from, since, I, too, was once in that situation: downloading so many things yet I don't know where to put them. Flash drive wouldn't suffice and diskette is so outdated. I hope you get your DVD burner soon. By the way mine is Samsung; I've had it for almost 3 years now, and still it works just fine (but I hate the noise).

i do have an lcd monitor. lcds are not only better than crt but also they consume really less power. also my desktop looks smooth with a sleek lcd and not a fat crt. i can take my lcd to lan parties, to my friends house to anytime due to its portability something i cant do with crt's

You're definitely right. Carrying CRT around would be against fashion and comfort. No one would want to get caught using bulky CRT among LCD gathering; it's like a taboo. But I think you'll agree that despite of CRT lacking portability, it compensate by having proven durability.

I agree on you upgrading your CRT to LCD because LCD consumes very little amount of power. I also recommend upgrading your ram and CPU and GPU for maximum performance and ready for high-end gamings.

i want to replace my motherboard and processor. As i had a bit slow processor(Core 2 Duo 1.86Ghz) so i want to replace it with some faster one. Also, i would like to upgrade my motherboard to Pro motherboard specially designed for heavy tasks. If i get these things then all the games will run smoothly on my system without any lag. And i don't desperately want a LCD monitor coz i have one. But its 17 inch and it is 4:3. I want to have a Full HD 22 or 24 inch LCD of 16:9 ratio.
