Why did no one buy Pakistani players for IPL 3rd edition?

We read that all the Pakistani cricketers are hired by none. The players felt insulted. Do you think the reason has to do with the visa issue or the teams were scared that Indian public will perceive them negatively? Do you think it's healthy to keep Pakistani players away from IPL?

i think its because of the indo-pak relations that have been going on the borders. unfortunately we have mixed it with game, else there were quite a few pak players that should have been considered.

Yes, there are good players like Afridi who would be very suitable for T20 kind of game. But it's unfortunate that he's left out. And it also unfortunate that relationship between two countries did not progress but remain stagnant.

I feel bad for the pakistani players such as Afridi who was on the cards to be taken but the franchise people don't wanted to take some risks as if the social groups go after them then they will not be able to play in the end the moneys will be drained down, so according to the owners it is good for them.So they opted for west Indian players instide of pakistani players.

I think as you said the fear is for social groups pressure. But in case such is the reason then the society needs to change too. That's not easy but I think that's desirable. If Pakistan and India have good relations that's good for both. If Pakistan bleeds it will affect us too as we are neighbours.

i really felt bad for them. it is not right to do that.sports shouldnt have any boundaries. infact sports strengthens the relationships between the countries.so i believe what happened is wrong. but then again, these people have their issues, they say theres some security issue, taking pakistani playes might lead to some security troubles. and other such reasons. this stuff is just such a mess. i just look forward to tune into the channel and watch people hit the ball out of the ground. thats it. and trust me. indian public wont take it negatively if pakistanis are allowed to play.

IPL defended their step by saying that visa problem and stuff could be there. But the govt said that such clearance was given. Whom to trust. I think our government is more accurate here. Even I don't think the general Indian would have problem with Pakistanis being in the team.

Its bad for Pakistani players but i think IPL teams done good by not selecting Pakistani players because Pakistani players were going sell in lot of money so the teams decide not to buy them because they they spend lot of money on them to buy Pakistani players whos know that Pakistani players will be available in next year IPL.

I don't think teams have anything to lose by buying Pakistani players. Anyhow, they are going to buy overseas players as well. In fact, if cricket in Pakistan does well it's good for cricket in general.
