HTC is a windows mobile phone where as the nokia 5800 is a symbian based phone. There are many applications made for both the phones, but I'd always choose a windows mobile phone over a symbian. What is the processor speed of the diamond, anything above 550mhz will never hang up.

No, I'm currently using Asus P750, and I'm pretty happy about it. The only problem with windows phones is the Phone feature, its not really up to the mark, there's a delay in end and talk buttons...

velocity_186, If I have a choice here, I would still go for Nokia 5800. The HTC Diamond, though is new (relatively) and impressive being sleek, great display and even has 3D interface, is just disappointing to me when I tested it at one of the cellphone retail outlets. I just felt that the overall performance during my navigation in between the apps and even displaying of photo images to be a little bit sluggish. If you are the impatient me, where you just cannot tolerate a 2 seconds lapse, then this is not the phone for you. I suspect that there is a little over engineering here which is causing this sluggishness. The other issue with HTC Diamond is the battery life where I understand that if you are running the phone on full apps the battery standby time would not be true to its literature, so do watch out if you are a heavy user like one of my colleagues who has recently sold off his and went for another brand. Hope this will be helpful.

P.S. You may want to consider the Motorola Droid which is really remarkable and value for money compared to a host of smartphones today.

You're welcome. I heard that there's going to be a Nokia smartphone launch around the corner. So, if you're not in a hurry and has the budget to splurge, then I'd strongly asked that you wait as I've heard very raving reviews. Have a nice day.
