Well, as I sat down to my computer this morning, I found out about a new threat to our health: sitting. Yup, apparently sitting too much is bad for us. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100120/ap_on_he_me/eu_med_dangers_of_sitting I want everyone reading this to stand up and walk to the next room and come back before they comment. Ready?

Darn. How do I switch this thing on? Where does the tea pour out of it anyway? Now I've scalded my finger. Bugger! What's this thing? Oh heck. I think that's the plate rack. They break easily don't they. Maybe I'll just sit down quietly "DON'T SIT DOWN" what shall I do then. Make like a Stork and stand on one leg........

I'm kind of guilty of sitting on my tushy too long in front of the computer. I do make a habit of getting up every once in awhile cause quite frankly I get rather bored sitting too long anyway. So maybe I get up to do some light cleaning, anything to get me moving a bit

Maybe you could get your kitties to bug you every now and then to get up and chase them around the room?

It's never ending when it comes to new revelations of what is bad for us, be it sitting or eating certain foods or just about anything. I actually get sick of all these revelations and feel like I am being told stuff by a bunch of people who have no concept of what the real world is. What makes me laugh is that sometime in the future their will be some contradictory evidence come to light which will put these results in to doubt. Now having been naughty and commented first I better stand up and walk to the next room, lol.

If we will follow the rule that everything seeks to find its stable state then it directly opposes this. If the stable state of human is lying on the bed or sitting then our body tends to oppose this semi-unnatural behavior of man. Sitting is bad especially if done with a very wrong posture. But sitting for hours maybe bad also for the reason that some of the bad stuff accumulates since our blood circulation has not been accelerated. I believe this because this is supported by a genuine study but if this would be implemented then computer jobs would fail. Anyhow, they propose solutions to those who have inevitable habit of doing this since its their job which requires them to do it. The best way I think is a to walk every hour or 2 hours for 15 minutes, just to let the blood circulate a bit more faster. ^^thanks

Looks like I may be in trouble! I do spend prolonged periods on my bottom sitting down and I am sure it is not good for me because I probably do not get enough exercise but I didn’t know that my body was sending harmful signals by me sitting down for a long time! I may just get up and walk around a little more from now on but I don’t fancy typing while standing up!

If you don't like typing while standing up, you could try typing on your knees...
