Hello to you...I'm sorry to hear about your diabetes.
Carbs that are fiber filled and natural will not raise blood sugar the way simple sugars do, so when you have carbs, go for the whole grains and such and have some protein and "good fat" with them, such as olive oil.
Chili is fine, as the beans, though a carb, are very high in fiber.
So is a taco made with a small whole-grain shell
Spanish or Tex/Mex rice: use dark whole-grain rice, lean ground meat, and again, the beans have lots of fiber and should not raise your blood sugar
Green tea helps those with diabetes, as do berries and high fiber fruits and veggies.
Getting enough magnesium and taking a CQ 10 supplement each day can help...but check with your doc first :) Eat smaller quantities more often to keep blood sugar levels more stable.
And my very best wishes to you on your health of you and your baby.
Karen
