Wow today marks day 21.. Weird usually days go bye slowly when your trying to save money. Or not dining out. But so far the days have been moving right along. Although my body is being really resistant. For two days now I haven't wanted to cook. And here's another day I do not feel cooking. And my husband won some movie tickets so we are going out tonight. so that's gonna be even more challenging to resist. I have a feeling we are gonna fail this time. Hopefully My husband can keep us on track. Cause honestly I don't think I have faith to do it this time. It's been 21 days since I had soda and no take out. It's almost like a withdrawal. And I'm becoming resistant about it. It's like I don't want to do it no more. But I keep trying to think the money we are saving.. Although right now that's like blah blah blah... So so far it's day 21 but 20 days complete...

Hey, you're doing great. Even if you splurge tonight, try to look at it as a minor setback and then see if you can go even longer the next time. It's okay to have an occasional night out, just don't do it too often. Can you try to shake things up a bit by trying a new recipe? Maybe have a make your own pizza night or a taco night? Sometimes when I don't feel like cooking I call a friend and see what they are making. That usually makes me hungry for whatever they are having and I will try to make a variation.

Well I've been tryin to keep things different week to week. And having at least one special meal a week that's different from the norm. It's helping to keep me cooking. And I like what you said first. Just look at it as a minor setback. I wasn't thinking like that. But of course that's another topic.

I think we are going to go out tonight. Just need some time out, some new music, etc. But we'll try to keep it low.

I think that your challenge is great and I should do the same! We are trying to do so much better about this stuff. We do buy candy at dollar tree where everything is $1 here and take it into the movies when we do go. It saves a ton of money right there. I usually do end up buying a drink there though.

most people I know usually do that unless they don't care. I use to bring soda in bottles in my pants and some candy. And always wore a heavy sweetshirt. No one ever seem to bother me about it. But yea ya gotta do whatcha gotta do to save money.

i disagree that the days go by slowly when you are trying to save money. i look at saving money as a challange and even an adventure! saving money isnt really that hard.

Well for some it's easier than others. But for my husband and I it's actually difficult. we are so use to just spending money left and right that we really haven't saved in quite sometime. So it's an adjustment. When your use to spending money and getting what you want. And than just stopping. Not going out and not buying everything you want. It's kind of stopping an addiction. hard at first but get's easier as it goes.

Honestly for those days you don't feel like cooking that's where you go overboard a few nights & make alot of extras and then freeze them. Frozen left overs or breaksfast for dinner always makes things a lil easier. Good luck @ the movies.... I don't usually buy anything @ the concession... I know more people that sneak food in than buy it! The blessings of a large purse *LOL*

Yea I'm really trying hard. There are things and reasons we need to save money. And each day it's a step in the positive direction. And so far it's sticking. Soon will be another discussion on what happen.
