Have you cancelled your home phone?

I am considering cancelling our home phone since we really don't use it that much. Mostly we use our cellphones and I'm curious to see how many have decided to use that as their only phone. We have long distance on our cells so that's not a factor and we rarely use all the minutes we have on our family plan. So how about you? Have you chosen to use just your cell phone and gotten rid of the home phone bill?

Hello Tallygirl, Yes Ive cancelled my home phone about 3 yrs ago. We use cells and for long distance I use MYJACK. It costs nearly nothing and lets me call anywhere in Canada and USA. I wouldnt go back to home phone. It used to cost me $35/month for no extra and no long distances to the bill. It would cost me a bundle though if I needed to make a long distance call. Now I dont even use my minute on my cell as I mostly use MJ.

Thank you for sharing! I am encouraged to hear that you have nothing but positive things to say about Magicjack as that's something that I was also considering as an option. Our bill is $40 with unlimited long distance but we simply don't use it for any long distance and not that much even for local. Is MYJack that same as MagicJack or was I assuming that? We know that can be dangerous! Is the call clarity good? I'd appreciate hearing back so I can make the best decision! Be Well!

Hey Im sorry, sometimes I think I have moths in my brain.......its not myjack, its MAGICJACK.....duhhh!! I love it, Im in Canada and we cant get a Canadian phone number, so Im using a number from Tn since I have a friend who lives there. Clarity is superb, same as your home phone. You simply connect the little thingy from MagicJack in your pc, then you connect your phone into the MagicJack and VOILA...a window will appear on your screen and you can start making call from any type of phone (not a cell tho.) I had it for 1 year and just renewed it for 5 yrs at a special price. Its really cheap and I do recommend it. Hope it helps.

I still have my landline phone. My girls use it quite often. They are more into texting than they are talking though. My phone is actually part of a package that gives me a better deal on my internet and cable. Take care.
