Why are relationships different when your parents are alive and why do they change with their demise

People will have some respect on elders. They hesitate to hurt anyone or talk bad about any other relation. When the big heads are gone, the people around will feel as though they are not duty bound to any one and all hesitations will vanish from their mind. So they reduce coming to other relations' houses and keep in touch with them. This is purely psychological.
