I just joined Digg in hopes of promoting some of my articles a bit more... After posting about 5 it said new users must wait before posting more or something along those lines. I checked the FAQs and couldn't find the limitations for new users. Does anyone know how many posts a new user may submit daily, or is it hourly, or something else? Also, when does a user transition from "new" user to normal user? Does it take a week, 30 days, 90 days? Also, if anyone has any hints, tips, advice, or anything to add, I'd love to hear more information about this site. How useful has it been for you in terms of promoting your own stuff? Thanks!

One tip, if you didn't SEO optimize your articles - ie. targeted your keywords, got some people to become friends on you on digg, maybe even buy a few diggs- then you've just wasted your time.

K thanks for the tip. I have tried searching for people with similar interests and read, rated their articles, etc, dugg them or whatever LOL, and added them as friends. I am hoping to get more friends as well... Got anymore tips?

I don't remember the rules about the specific things you are talking about but wanted to caution you. I have heard that DIGG doesn't like us promoting our own articles too often. They'd rather we promote other people's work, with a sprinkling of our own thrown in.

Bah!! I doubt I will be using that site too often. Just thought it would be a good avenue to use for promotion. Oh well, thanks for the warning!
