4 Months ago I took my G.E.D test so I can go to a community college. I was 17 when I took this test and they said it was alright as long as I got permission to be taken out of the school and proud the note into the community college while giving in the application. So the day came where I had to go to the community college to take the test, waited about a month and a letter came to my house and it said they didn't grade my test because I was under age. I mean what am I supposed to do now?

Under age is one criteria which is widely been considered in my country and if you are rejected because of that, there is absolutely nothing to get humilated or not proud of and all you can do is to do something useful while waiting to attend the minimal permissible age to be eligible to join in the community college. That's it and there is absolutely nothing to get worried about. Have a cheerful time and keep your worries away. Happy Mylotting. Cheers:-)

This shouldn't bother you one bit, what should bother you is if you gave up on school altogether. I know the world makes it seem high school graduation is a must or your a failure but thats not true. I didn't graduate from my high school I got my GED which was equivalent to a diploma and I went on and pursued my education now I have my BA in Business and working towards my MA in Social Work. People will not remember me getting my GED but they will honor my commitment to keep striving for a higher education. Don't give up or think one thing is better than the other just stay focus work at your pace and keep striving for greatness.. I wish you luck

At your age time passes very slowly. Just don't give up. Go on the internet and do some studying until next year and then reapply to the college. You will succeed if you really want it.

Well, if you are about to turn 18 soon, do it again then. If not, you may have to wait until then, but I honestly don't know how you are going to get anything done without a diploma or equivalent. I'm no one to judge, and I don't know your situation, but you might as well go back and finish up, or try to find a school in your town that gives advanced classes so you can graduate sooner. (Sorry, not sure what kind of school that is called, but I do know that it exists). Well, good luck and don't give up! Keep studying, no matter what!

Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. I would be upset that they misled you! Unfortunatly I hate to say it colleges tend to do that more than they care to admit. You know like that 90 something job placement rate... they forget that they are probably including people who are employed but not in their field. There's only 2 places in my area for me to go to my career goal do you think that w/ them graduating so many what are my odds to get in? zip! All I can say is I would have your parent since they won't listen to you. Call and chew them out!! If you are trying to do something positive why stand in someones way if they have their parents blessing to do so? Good luck!

is there a number on the letter that your parent or legal guardian can call? I went to college when I was 16 and I didn't need to take my GED test, I used the credits from college to work towards my high school degree and my college degree. See if your school has a post secondary enrollment option. They paid for all my classes and books while I was in high school.
