Dog rescue underway

Anyone heard about the stranded dog in L.A. that's, I believe, in a river? He's walking along some narrow pathway along a river or fast-flowing water in Los Angeles.
I hope the dog is okay! They are trying to resuce him. I wish the best. Wonder how he wandered there? Does anyone know more informatino? I am half-watching it on Fox News at work, and the TV is far away so it's hard for me to hear and see it.

Here is the full story, yes it's the same one you're talking about. I didn't know one of the rescuers had gotten bitten, but he said he's not holding it against the dog. The dog was scared and cold and didn't know...

The dog's owners have 10 days to claim him, named Vernon for now, until they put him up for adoption. He was well-maintained but had no name tag or chip.

aw what a poor baby dog! (all cute animals are babies to me) he must have been curious about something and wandered to the wrong place. I hope they're hurrying! all the rescuers probably want to save him soo much, just as much as if he were human.

UPDATE
The dog has been rescued. I am unsure of his condition, but he's no longer at risk of drowning.

i HADN'T HEARD ABOUT IT. HOPE THEY CANrescue it. Haven't had the tv on much today.
