In the universe everything is having its name. And behind each name there resides its meaning. Our names have also their meanings. Even our nick names by which we are often called by our friends has also got some meaning behind this. But some people will say that the name is the thing which matters most, then why go to find its meaning. Well meaning of your name can sometimes indicate your identity. The identity which your parents have given to you. Now I will ask a simple question that do you know the meaning of your own name?

Over the years, I've noticed that people with the same name act very much the same. There are the "snobby" names, successful names, bratty names and nice names. When you think of your friends and all the people you know that have the same name, aren't they more alike in personality than different? My name means sweet.

My name is actually created by my parents as a combination of the name Doris and the name Ann. They took the meanings of the two names and combined them to come up with the meaning being "coming from the sea with grace." I think that this is a great meaning for my name and also for my own personality. I grew up as a swimmer and I really do love everything that has to do with the water. I don't think that my parents could have pulled a better meaning out of the two names that they combined to describe the woman that I would become.

No, I do not know the meaning of my name. I think I will look it up and see what the meaning is. I kind of doubt if my mother knows the meaning of my name. I think she liked the name and just gave it to me. Have a great day.

My name means Lily in Hebrew. I'm not Israeli or Jewish, but that is what my name means and that is were it comes from. Interestingly, in my own religion, I chose sunflower for my name. So we have a flower theme going on here.

Mine means the one who does no wrong, or a perfect lady in other words. Which doesn't make any sense nor is it anywhere being correct considering humans are faulty creatures by nature and I am DEFINITELY not an exception to that =P

this is what i know about my name, sanjeevsingh: the origin of my name is spanish, but was adopted by hebrews. the name, which my parents gave me, was intended for baby boys. however, the biblical meaning is "may god give increase," which is associated with the biblical adage, "go forth and multiply." as regards the importance of a name to one's identity, it is very important. we carry our names during our lifetime and it is used to identify us in everything we do, personal or otherwise. good day.

the lily of the valley - I have found a friend in Jesus, He's everything to me,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul; The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay;He tells me every care on Him to roll.
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne; In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessèd will;A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear,
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessèd face,
Where the rivers of delight shall ever roll.
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
My name is actually a name of flower. It is also oftentimes use to represent the name of an array or range of flowering plants that normally abundantly grow in the valleys, hills and fields and sometimes would cover the entire ground at certain times of the year so they really look so lovely and alluring in clusters and would catch so much attention. But my name specifically denotes one beautiful kind of flower. This is one kind of flower that is actually specifically called like my name. This flower is known to have the capacity to grow and multiply wherever it thrives. It has different varieties. There are those found in the water, in the fields, in the forest, among the thorns, among the rocks, found in ornamental gardens and even in ordinary homes. Those found in the land are grown from bulbs so they easily multiply. Their petal are very soft, very delicate, bell shaped and grow out of the slender stems of the mother plant about 9 inches tall. The stem rises between two shiny leaves with the mostly white fragrant flowers in the center. While there are very common varieties that are found in common places and people can't help but admire their beauty. The common types easily wilt nevertheless it is so easy for them to grow new flowers that people can admire over and over again. The more expensive types also called by the name stargazer are the most lovely ones and unlike the common types don't easily wit. They can last up to 3 weeks in flower vase and would give the most fragrant scent during the night. It is actually the national flower of one country. I think the country is Bangladesh. While the most common color is white there are also varieties ofg yellow and pink and also combination of colors like white and pink, white and yellow, white and purple etc. The name of this flower is also one well-known flower in ancient Jewish civilization. Actually the word of God, the Bible made of mention of this name of flower some 15 times in 15 different verses. Such verses if I may quote some of them are:Matthew 6:28-29 "And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. In some civilization it has even become the symbol of chastity and virtue". Song of Solomon 1:2-I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. Song of Solomon 6:2 My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies. Hosea 14:5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. The characteristics of this flower which I think has similarities to my personality are:1. This flower has very delicate petal and so am I. I am fragile, very delicate and I would not want anymore to touch me except my beloved husband. Nevertheless although I am fragile just like the lily I also have inner strength. I believe the strengths are my sweetness and capacity to grow and sprout again after being wilted just as this flower is. 2. This lily is mostly in white color well I may not be as white as this flower but I believe with white as the symbol of purity then I am with all my heart been persevering to keep my life pure in eyes of God. 3. The most expensive variety of this flower grows tall but the flowers bow their head down which is a symbol of humbleness and submission to God its creator. I am very much like this flower. I humble down and submit to my Creator as well. Although I may not be physically as beautiful and as perfect as this flower I would say that I am proud to have her as my name because her name is also even used to refer to Jesus Christ. In my favorite hymn the name of this flower is the central and it has been used to denote the Lord Jesus Christ. Part of this traditional hymn goes like this:"I have found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me, He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul; The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole. In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay;He tells me every care on Him to roll. Refrain He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.......I BELIEVE YOU KNOW BY NOW WHAT MY NAME IS. AND TO GIVE FURTHER HINT KINDLY LOOK, AT IMAGE I INSERTED.

My name is pretty easy to figure out because it is Dawn. It just means sunrise. It is funny that you would start this conversation. We have been talking about meanings of names in Sunday school after the last couple of weeks and telling what the meaning of our name is. Mine, obviously means sunrise. Your name can say a lot about you because that is how you see yourself I suppose.
