I don't think there is to much difference. It depend on the activity and visitors of you webpage not its type. There are lots of famous blogs while many websites are not active at all.

I have worked for a web design company and know that blogs get indexed faster than websites, particular Wordpress blogs. It is one of the most popular blogging sites/software used by web companies

Well, generally in a site that actually has their own domain name. Especially if it's a .com. At least, that's how it's been for me!
