Every year, hundreds of people die on their way to their provinces to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones. It is customary for Filipinos to go home to their provinces during the holidays. With their meager income, some people would opt to sail than to ride in a plane.
The Maritime industry in the Philippines had experienced numerous sea accidents attributed to their unprofessionalism, obsolete ships and facilities, and greed. Many of their ships sank every year claiming hundreds of innocent lives. These ships ar sailing like flying coffins. They are overloaded, with ill-trained staff, and post world war II built.
The government and the owner of these businesses should be responsible enough to give the best transport facility to the paying public, having safety and convenience as the primary concern and not search and rescue operation when there is a clear sign of negligence.

Many of these tragic accidents even make the news in USA. Are not the passengers somewhat responsible for this. If as the ships are loading someone would refuse to board and be very loud about the reason maybe it would help. The greed is no only on the part of the owners and the government. Citizens must retain responsibility for their own safety. How many have to die before this becomes clear.

I do accept there issue with the security but to hold responsible government for every thing is not correct. we should properly check the security measure of the particular service provider before finalizing any service provider

The government is very lax in the implementation of laws for the maritime industry that is why the offenders are not afraid.

I have made several trps on Filipino ferrys, and the way they load people on should be addressed by the authorities. There is no value put on the lives of the passengers. If these operators were controlled, lives wouldn't be wasted.

Hi friend
That's true
They should take care of the passengers because they are their clients.
