The three giant oil companies has their oil depot at the center of Manila beside the legendary Pasig river. The huge depot has been operating in the city for many years now together with other heavy industries. The depot serves the majority of the city's requirements as well as the other cities. There has been a move from the concerned sectors of the environment to oust and stop the operation of the depot. Environmental concerns are the primary argument considering the facilities are near a body of water and huge residential areas. One concern is the health hazard to humans. The companies on their part did everything to cooperate, helping the adjacent communities and doing all the safety regulations being suggested by the local government. Ultimately, the local government will decide on whether the depot will stay or not. The decision has been made. After consulting various various sectors including the church, the city officials voted for the continued operation of the establishments. Regards
