Do threads return back when responded to?

I am still fairly new at this, so I have a question. When you respond to a thread, do they return back to the front page? I didn't know for sure. Just wondering how this works. Thank you!

When a discussion receives any activity (a response or a comment) it will then be seen in 'recent' and in 'similar discussion' where the tags are similar to the one that has received the activity. This is why it is useful to keep going back to your own started discussions and adding comments. It revives them and makes them visible to others who might not have seen them when they were first posted. They might respond

I bet many others are learning from this discussion too Tags are important because if you use the right tags your discussion will get picked up over in that column too When I start a discussion I use the same tags for each interest. For a discussion started here I would use 'mylot' most of the time and usually other usera will add it too. Then it will usually show up there too.
