Guys, I may have a funeral to go to this weekend, and I need a little help with something. I don't know what to wear. I want to dress appropriately and respectfully. Now, let me tell you first that there are a couple reasons I need to wear pants for this day, so I can't wear dresses or skirts, which I would prefer to, but can't. So what I'm asking would it be proper for my to wear a nice pair of black jeans/dark blue jeans with a nice top? Thanks!

According to me any white colour dress will be correct.

Well I would like to wear a dress, but the reason I can't is because I'm right in the middle of laser hair removal on my legs, and the hair is growing so slow and low that it's visible, but I can't shave it. So I have to cover my legs.

Since you can't wear dresses or skirts do you own a pants suit or some women slacks. I think that would be more dressy and appropriate

If you had a pair of black slacks that would be more appropriate. Otherwise, go with the black jeans. Any kind of top with some black in it would go good.

hi LilyoftheThorns! You can wear skirt r dress if you want but preferably knee high or below the knee lenght. Don't wear loud colors ( i know you know that, just a reminder) like red. If you have white or black colored clothes, that is more appropriate. Observing right clothes is one way of showing respect and condolences... It is good that you are thinking about what to wear on this type of occassion for relatives are sometimes sensitive and emotionsal even if they are not normally...

I think you hit it on the head. Slacks would probably be even better. And if it is outdoors remember to wear comfortable shoes. Jeans and tops are accceptable, black is prefered traditionally. I have a little background in this arena. Almost always clean nice clothes are fine.

Thank you :D I can't be too picky when I'm shopping since I'm running out of time. And usually it's easier to fit jeans to me, but I'll still try to find some nice black slacks.

I think jeans are a little too casual for the occasion. I would find a nice pair of black or dark dress pants to wear with the nice top, and also a pair of pumps to go along with it. However, if this is not possible, you can go with the black jeans. People usually do dress up as nice and solemn as possible for these occasions; however they will understand if you do not have the means to dress the way you truly desire to. They will just be glad for your emotional support.

I think black jeans are definately acceptable if they look reasonably smart. If you wear some smart shoes and then a black top this would definately be appropriate and respectful. Even if the top isn't black, but just a dark colour it would be fine.
