I am trying to ask what exactly are diabettes and kidney stones. I hope I spelled those two right. So I want to know can my parents die from having those. I would not want to lose them is their anything that I can do to help them out. What should I make them do? I want to make the get rid of those,is it possible to even get rid of diabettes or kidney stones. Sorry, but I don't really know about these two. I need information on this. I want to do whatever I can to help them out with their problems. My mom for one she eats a lot of junk food well not to much, but she does like to also eat lots of vegetables. My dad he has a bit of a problem, well it's more of a addiction he just loves to drink soda a lot. Is this what might of caused them to get diabettes and kidney stones. Any information would be helpful, thank you.

anime, diabetes is a degenerative disease that causes a lot of complications, some of which are fatal. on the other hand, kidney stones can now be removed with certain medicines, without need of surgery. but the first thing to do, is consult the doctor about these conditions. diabetes, whether type 1 or type 2, is manageable -- meaning, to avoid fatal complications. your mom's kidney stones, when remove, will no longer bother her. try to learn about these two diseases, consult your doctor and do what you think is best.

Hi Anime! Let me tell you some information about these two most fatal diseases in recent times. I don't mean to scare you but to give you awareness of these diseases. As a health care provider, it is my responsibility to keep the society informed regarding health issues. To start of, DIABETES simply means that the blood sugar of a person is high, this may be effect of eating foods that are high in sugar content or the pancreas are not working well or is not able to compensate the high sugar in the body. Normal rate for that is below 200mg/dL; anybody who exceeds in that rate for a certain period of time is considered to be a diabetic. To be frank, this disease is not treatable but manageable. Which means, this can be controlled but not cure. These are some tips to manage it: eat low sugar or sugar-free foods; exercise regularly (at least 30 mins/day); eat more fresh foods than processed foods; prevent sodas, candies, and the like. Also, I would suggest that you let your mom monitor her sugar level. You can by a device to detect this; it is called GLUCOMETER. Take her blood sugar before breakfast and before dinner. Do this everyday. You must be aware that this disease should be monitored and maintained in a normal level since there are lots of complications that can occur. These are the complications: Nephropathy (kidneys will be damaged; this would require dialysis); Neuropathy (person is not anymore to walk and move properly); blurring of vision; feet will become gangrenous; any part of the body especially the feet, when it bleeds, it heals for a long time (sometimes never) which would result to knee-amputation. So always tell your mom to be careful whenever she goes and be sure to have her meal on time. With kidney stones, this is the start of any kidney diseases. But don't worry, this could be treated with prescribed medications or laser if the stones are larger. I would suggest that your father should consult a doctor ASAP. If the doctor would let your dad have under medications, it would be appropriate that he would drink plenty of water. When I say plenty, it should be more than 12 glasses/day. This would help in eliminating the stones. Also, please tell your dad to prevent high sodium containing foods- canned goods or any processed foods; salty foods; junked foods; sodas; foods rich in uric acid (e.g. liver). This is important, tell your father not to hold his urine. Whenever he feels that he has the urge to urinate, let him go and eliminate that. That is also one of the cause why there are stones built up in the kidneys. If these stones would not be eliminated, there is a tendency that there would be kidney failure and the person would not be able to urinate and eliminate all the waste materials and it would build up in the body; which would then require dialysis. To tell you honestly, this disease is the most costly disease. Do you know why I know? It is because this was disease of my grandmother. It started that she had stones in her kidneys. She went to the doctor to have it checked and she was given medications. After that, when those stones were eliminated, she didn't have her regular check up. Until that her kidneys shrinked and it did not function anymore. She was not able to urinate and she was having shortness of breath when walking for a short time. Until then, she was having dialysis and there were lots of medications. It was really costly. She had dialysis for almost 6years and it was only my mom who was paying the expenses from the start because her other siblings would not give. So I think this would be it. I mean sharing these information to you not to scare you or be frightened. But I am sharing you these so that you would be able to help and deal properly with your parents' diseases. You must also remember that when a person is sick, there is a tendency that they would be hot-tempered. I hope you would be patient enough to them since this just normal. Not to forget, always add a sincere prayer since God is the ultimate healer and the best doctor. God bless you and your family. With lots of regards! :-)

As far as the kidney stones, they are a buildup that develops in your kidney due to one of many different factors and it is impossible to tell what is the true cause of your father's kidney stones without catching one as it passes and analyzing it in a lab. My husband has been dealing with kidney stones for about the past two years and he finally had surgery to help his body to pass them last Monday. He had a large one in each kidney and the surgery that they did to help him get rid of them broke them apart so that they could pass through his urinary tract more easily.

Diabettes problem will not finish. But if you want you can maintain it. Ask your mom to eat more vegetable, don't take suger in tea or coffee. Ask her to don't eat so much at one time. Eat few and then eat again and ask her to walk regular minimum 2 hours. That's it diabettes level will be low. And for your father ask him to consult with doctor cause he needs a operation or doctor will give hime some medicine. That's it. both problem will be solve. I hope i am telling you the best things.

Diabetes--your mom needs to be careful with foods that have lots of sugar in them. It can be a very dangerous disease if she is not careful. She has to minimize her intake of sodas, cakes, ice cream, etc.--anything sweet. The kidney stones of your dad if still small can be cured by medicines. He also needs to be careful with his food intake and I am sure that drinking is not good for his state of health.

the thing with your mom is something to do with sugar intake. as long she does what the doctor tells her to do she will be ok. that mean she need to watch her diet and take her meds. kindey stone not sure what it is or how to explain it. but its nothing that can kill you but they hurt really bad and it can make it feel like it could kill you. but the doctors can take care of them pretty easy these days.

To Anime123 I wouldn't worry too much both of parents can look after themselves. Diabettes and kidney stones can be taken care of with surgery and monitoring carefully what your mother eats. My father has diabettes and he just has to watch his sugar intake and he has to eat reasonably healthy. You should just worry about growing up and taking care of yourself.

Scientifically, the cause of diabetes may be due to a lack of insulin production or lack of substance sensitive to the substance of tissue insulin. This will result in levels of glucose in foods can not be absorbed and utilized by the body. as a result the blood sugar levels will continue to increase. Diabetes can be avoided or reduced by knowing the blood glucose levels in our bodies do a routine inspection, because of the increase and down sugar the blood is always changing. if we are able to keep blood sugar levels within normal limits means that we can prevent the complications of diabetes. Another way that you can use to reduce the complications of diabetes are stop smoking, optimizing cholesterol levels, maintain a stable body weight, controlling high blood pressure (tension), and doing regular exercise. In the case of kidney stone disease and urinary tract, severe kidney damage will force you to wash the blood throughout life. What should you do to deal with this disease? Drink plenty of water, eat all thins necessary, do not go overboard, expand motion.
