I have seen that many people have the habit of leaving food in their plate. They take their items in plate and then whatever they can eat, they ate that and leave the rest. Just take a look at this image and you will understand what I am trying to say. I have no more words to express my message. happy mylotting to all of you.

I have been brought up in a family where wasting food is a sin. That's why I very seldom have any unfinished food on my plate. Yes, I have seen and known people who always leave some food on their plates, especially ladies. The most common excuse I heard is they wouldn't want to ruin their slim figures. Well, being a man, I really can't understand them. They could have ordered a smaller portion of food so that they can finish whatever's on their plates, without hurting their figures. Also, aren't they aware of people starving in the other parts of the world?

i agree on you myzire72. most ladies do that most especially when their boyfriends take them out on a dinner. they tend to order big portion of food and yet they dont finish eating the whole meal. they could have just ordered ice cream if they dont want to make their tummy look bigger. my parents also told me that we should give in considerations for what we have coz its a blessing from god.

If it's a meal I can serve myself, I take what I can eat and no more. I dislike wasting food even if there is plenty of it, so if I'm in a restaurant and the portions are too big for a single reasonable meal (something that happens more and more as I get older and find I have a smaller apetite) I ask for a take-away box and take the rest home for later. This is a common thing among most of my friends, and at times we will share the meal when it's too big for one. The restaurants I go to have boxes on hand for the extras, so we are not the only ones who do it. I also find that if I'm going somewhere to see friends after lunch or dinner out, I usually have a friend or relative who is happy to get that second half when I bring it along.

Great thinking on your part. I seriously admire your thinking of saving food. In my family we take the food which is left and the other person can eat from it. Only my brother has the habit of leaving the food in his plate always. But rest of my family dont have this habit. I hope you continue to do this good work, once again a great thanks to you. Keep up the good work. Really hats off to you.

Most of the time I will finish the meal in my bowl. I hate to waste the food because there are many people are still staving. It is a bad habit to waste the food. If I really can't finish my food, I will pack the leftover and eat it next time. I love China

Hi, I will always try to eat the whole meal in my plate. And I will take sufficient meal, not too much. But, sometimes I must order food in restaurant, and they have prepared one plate for us. In such case, if the portion are too much for me, and I feel I am already full, so I will leave the rest in the plate. Happy mylotting, too. Best wishes,

Hi there. I usually eat the whole meal. Our father has always thought us to finish what food we had put in our plates. He said it is God's grace we partake and we should give importance to it. More so, those leftovers are a waste of hard earned money. It is like throwing whatever you have earned in the rubbish bin. Just think of those people who can barely eat a single meal in a day before leaving a palm full of food in your plate and besides just take what you can finish. A little consideration wont hurt. :D

hi vicky. i feel the same way as yours. most people tend to get food on their plates more than they can eat and for me that is a very bad habit. they are wasting god's grace and one more thing, we buy foods. we dont just pick it up everywhere so i think people should take considerations before wasting their food.

we share same views i think. i was raised in a family wherein we can get punnished if we waste our food on our plates. everytime mom serves us our daily meal, she will remind us first that its GOD's grace that is why we should value it, and that my dad work so hard just to buy us food to eat. she keep on telling as well that we are so blessed to eat more than 3 times a day compare with those less fortunate people. that awakens me to the truth of that matter. and from then on, now that i do have my own kid, i pass those good thoughts of my mom to my daughter so that at her young age she will know how to value everything that she has. thanks for your point of views. goodluck

As much as possible, I never leave any food on my plate, except of course for things that cannot be eaten already like bones. I always make sure that food is not wasted so I only put what I can consume. It is sad to note that many people are wasting their food and many other people are still looking for food to eat our in the streets.

personally I cannot see how whether I leave some food on my plate or dont is going to help someone starving in another country unless you are suggesting we air mail our left over food to some c country for the starving people. meantime here in the USA too d arned many people do heed their moms admonition to eat everything on your plate thus we have a huge population of obese people who will undoubtedly become diabetic or have heart trouble because of a foolish saw about cleaning your blasted plate. do not overeat, if in a cafe take the left overs home, if at home, p;ut the leftovers in t he fridge.

Hi vicky22101984, it's a very wasteful habit for someone to leave leftovers on their plates and also shows that the person does not have concern for the poor and needy people. In this world of ours, some people are not fortunate enough to have a square meal a day, and on the other side some people are so wasteful in their eating habits, it's not good. It is considered rude in my society not finishing what has been served to you. Thank you.

Great that you support my view and also think about it. I agree that its a shame that we left food in our plates while there are others who dont even get to see what is food. You are following your society values and I am happy to see that

I always see to it that I could finish the meal I got for myself, but there are really times that we can't really resist leaving some foods on the plate for reasons like for example, the food didn't fit my taste or I'm just simply full.

At school,I always eat the whole meal, while at home,I usually leave some.I don't know why. Maybe it's because at school I don't have much to eat.

Sometimes I get lazy taking all the food of my plate and I feel badly about it. Rice is our staple food but the trouble is its hard to put it to the spoon when there is little left. I do not want to waste my time taking it to my spoon and I most of the time is in a hurry. So definitely if I'm not having time constraints I would befittingly take all the food of my plate.

I guess you should be more concerned about the wastage of food. If all of us take it seriously, we might turn out be some kind of heroes. I mean to save food is like saving life. Just think about it. Just think about those who never gets a proper meal just because there is shortage of food items, because few of us never respect the need of saving food. Please try to contribute to this society by trying to consume all the food and be a smart human being, not a lazy fellow.

I get greedy sometimes and I would eventually grab food that seem tasty at a buffet. But, after i get full, the plate seems to have gotten bigger! ~_~

I just eat as much as I can and just leave the rest there. I obviously will eat the rest later if I'm at home but I don't really take it with me if I'm in a restaurant or anything similar like that.. well, unless I have leave a lot of food there. Than I just ask for one of those plastic boxes where I can bring my food with me.

"Just take only the one you can consume!", this is one of the many lessons we have teach our children regarding eating manners. And all of us comply to this very simple rule. But there are times when I see that no matter how careful we take our food in our plate, there is sometimes left-over on the plate. If were on a restaurant, I would definitely have it wrap for take out.

I never leave any food in my plate when eating. During my childhood year, my father would really get mad whenever he sees leftover going to waste. So i only take something that i can eat all. I think we really have to be careful about eating something. We should not waste it. In our family, it's a sign of disrespect of the blessings that God gave us.

When I'm attending buffet parties, where there are so many foods to choose from, I get whatever I can eat only. Every time I see foods left in the plate and being thrown to waste, I can't avoid to think of those people who are hungry and can do nothing about it. I pity those children who experience hunger, especially in the third world countries, and those children in the streets who were asking for alms and sometimes you can see them digging the waste cans looking for food to eat. So, next time we eat, just get what we can take.

Hi there! I always make it a point to eat everything on my plate because i believe that it is a blessing from God and blessings should not be wasted. Many people die from hunger and as the more fortunate ones, we should always be thankful for the food on our plates.
