How to collect traffic into my forum?

Recently, I with some of my friends have made a website. But we are not getting enough member into our website. That website is basically a forum. Can you suggest me how to get active members into our website?

Mylot itself is a good way ,know friend. You know very intelligent people here and you can catch people from here itself. You just start a task here and so you will get good amount of people to your forum and very good quality posts.
