I was such a Daddy's girl when I was smaller. He was my hero and it was like he could do no wrong! I have 3 siblings of which consists of 1 girl and 2 boys. And I was more of a Daddy's girl than my sister was by far. I would get up in the mornings and drink coffee with him. I thought that I was all grown up! Lol! My face would just brighten up every time he came home from work. I would laugh at all his jokes and thought he was so funny! I don't recall getting any spankings from him. I think that he just didn't have the heart. Through the years, I have outgrown that some, even though I think he is still a hero in my eyes. But now my Mom is my dearest friend. It is funny how that happens. I still have fond memories of my childhood, and always will : )

Hi Tina, I am bit surprised. Your entire post represent past tense. Represents the current status that you are closer to your Mom, does it means you are not loving your daddy any more?

I am very much close to both parents now ; ) My Dad is my hero, and Mom is my best friend. But when I was little, I was a Daddy's girl. After I got older, there was so much more that I could share with my Mom that I couldn't share with my Dad..all the puberty issues, raising kids, etc. ; ) But I am still Daddy's little girl. We still laugh and cut up together all the time. I guess when it comes down to it, I laugh with Daddy, but I can cry with Mama. I also laugh with Mama, but Daddy was always the one with the big sense of humor and made me laugh. Mam was the one that I could talk to about EVERYTHING, and still do. Out of all us siblings, I am blessed to live closer to my parents, so I get to see them a lot more.

I never really thought about it before but I guess I was a little bit. I wanted to watch everything my dad did and always enjoyed his sense of humor so much. I remember working on projects with him in his workshop, making presents for my mom or grandparents and thinking he was so smart and could do anything. However, I also thought that about my mom too. She had a real knack for making our bedrooms personalized to our tastes and feel so special, even on the limited budget they had when we were growing up and only had 1 income in the family.

What I remember most about my dad as a child, is his big sense of humor. And we lived on a very strict budget with one income. But my dad would come in from work (he was a building contractor, but he would also take on many side jobs for extra income) and he would have patches on top of patches because he wouldn't spend any extra money on himself. But all 4 of us kids would just be totally ecstatic that he was home! He would just drag us all through the house and we were screaming "Daddys Home!!!" He always had a big smile on his face no matter how tired he was. I just remember so many things like that with my dad ; )

Hi tinalb! I'm a daddy's girl too. I'm the only girl among my siblings so sometimes I get more of his attention. Now, we're still the best of friends, we even got to hang out together. Our favorite bonding events are shopping and eating out. Though he was tired from work, he still got time to talk with me about my day and about my studies. If I go abroad, there wouldn't be a week that he won't call me. My dad and I look similarly so, if I was a boy, I would really look like him. My mom is my good friend too but I am most close to my dad. Happy mylotting!

hehe..I'm quite a daddy's girl too! Well, we have one boy in the family and mom always favour him, so I cling to my dad more than mum. However, we're not really close to our parents that we don't really share our secrets (or maybe we don't have secrets at all) Daddy knows my interests and always support me in any way ^^

I use to be a daddy's girl myself when I was real little. I'd always want to be around him, go whereever he went, he always had to be the one to hold me. No one could ever pull me away from him . But now as I had gotten older I pulled away from him and just grew up I suppose. Now, like you I spend more time with my mother and she's kind of like my best friend and I can go and talk to her about anything. I don't spend so much time with my dad though now, because they divorced and another reason, for some things that happened in the past. Its funny though how us girls can switch from being a daddy's girl at one moment to just being best friends with our moms when we get older.
