Does that drive anyone else a lil batty to have to wait for the dryer to put another load in? It only takes a lil while for the washer but the dryer is usually an hour or more depending on the load. I can't wait til it's line drying season outside again.... then I can wash like a crazy lady and not have the "wait"

our washer actually is pretty fast compared to the dryer in winter. i think the outside cold air comes in from the back and that's what takes so long. some clothes it takes 2 or 3 rounds to get done.

Ours only had that problem when the exhaust hose on the dryer needed a good cleaning out or the vent to the outside was clogged w/ line is that what happens to ours when it takes that long.

ours is actually clear,so it can't be that.. i'm surprised the vent wasn't frozen shut the other day tho. it was pretty fierce out.

I know what you mean but to cut down on electricity I now wash at night and put everything on hangers to partially dry overnight before using the dryer. We have had torrential rain for the past month otherwise I put everything out on the line and then put it in the dryer for 5 mins with a sheet of bounce to soften everything. Also because our clothes are not dirty I only use the shortest wash for all laundry and half of the recommended amount of liquid laundry soap.

My hubby hates lined dried but I do it anyways except on his jeans & undies. The only place I have enough room to do a great deal of line drying though is in the basement but then everything smells like..."basement" . I do though time to time I do just wash my stuff alone and line dry it w/ over the door hooks and room in the kids closets. I'm starting to use dryer sheets more in our wash than before since we have dye free detergent. So atleast w/ everyone other than DS' wash has a nice freshness to it.

Cut the dryer sheets in half! One sheet perload is not necessary and obviously they last twice as long!

It is the opposite for me. My washer takes longer than my dryer. I have to take the hoses off the back and check to see if the little filter is clogged or something because the water pressure to my washer is horrible. It takes forever to fill up.

yeah that inlet filter can make all the difference along with the minerals in your water affecting the fill time. We eventually took off the lil filter/mesh inlet screen & had no further problems w/ my previous washer.

I rarely have more than one load of laundry at a time so it doesn't really bother me. But I remember the damp laundry piling up while I waited for the dryer when my kids were growing up! What irritates me now is that my dryer has a buzzer that signals the clothes are ready to be taken out. I don't like that buzzer and there's no manual--the dryer came with the house--so I don't know how to turn it off! When I lived in Arizona I'd hang clothes outside and in the summer it took about 5 minutes for a load to dry! But when the boys and I had to move into a rental house the homeowner's association there prohibited clotheslines or any other outside drying of clothing.

I can't blame ya cause I know the feeling. I hate waiting for clothes to dry in the dryer too. I tried drying clothes at my parents' house and it was really cold outside. Well, the cold air got inside the hose since they have a gas dryer and it took hours just to get one load finished. I actually wish my apartment had a back porch where I can hang a line like my grandma does.

I know it takes an hour for my stuff to dry. I'd say if it's taking hours literally they need to clean out their vent cause mine takes forever if it's clogged up. Try using over the door hooks or wooden dowel racks work nicely when you can't use a line outside.

Yes I hate waiting for the dryer this dryer here takes forever! Something is wrong with it you have to dry them at least 3 or 4 times before they even get dry! But always the clothes in the washer are already done and the ones in the dryer seem to never end! So yes it drives me crazy too!

It certainly makes the task seem like it takes even longer.

That is annoying, but I have a system. I put my clothes in the dryer for about 15 minutes and then take out whatever I don't want to dry completely - jeans, sweaters that shrink, etc - and put them on my drying rack and indoor clothesline. When I go downstairs to take that stuff out I put the next load in the washer. Then in another half hour or so the remainder of my first load is dry just in time to pop the second load in the dryer.

Yes, I wish that there was a way to have a super dryer that could go as quickly as the washer could run. The problem for me lies in the fact that I can't line dry any time of the year because we have a lot of trees in our backyard and thus a lot of birds and other wildlife which means that as soon as my clothes were dry they would have to go back into the washer because they would also be dirty. So, I just have to deal with the fact that the things have to stay in the washer for an extra 45 minutes after they are clean.
