What do you do against the winter blues?

For many of us, winter is a tough time of year - dark, cold, miserable - and it can make us feel really depressed, especially those of us with SAD (seasonal affective disorder). So what do you do to combat the winter blues... practise a hobby, get out for exercise, positive thinking?

Welcome to mylot. Winter is very difficult for me, when the sun comes out I try to get in it for a bit that seems to bring me back to life for awhile. Trying to do fun suff indoors helps too. Here as of late though nothing seems to work for me. I think it's because of all the rain we are getting. Also my business is very slow right now and that puts additional stress on me trying to pay all the company bills and my own. I hate to exercise so that doesn't work for me. Positive thinking usually works, but not working at the moment sorry to say. I can't wait for warmer days and the sun to come out and stay. Happy mylotting!

Aww bless - yes, I know where you're coming from, I run my business from home and barely seem to manage to get out except to go shopping and stuff. I can't complain about business being slow, but all this winter gloom makes it difficult to concentrate. Hope things pick up soon!

Thank you for the best response award. Business is still slow but we are in the 80's and the sun is out so feeling somewhat better, would feel great if business was up. Hope your doing better as well.

Well now it's becoming summer and I feel alot happier than I did in the winter. I spend most of my time outdoors. It's such a relief, because we had such a long freezing cold winter. It's been very hot out,but I won't complain because I'm tired of being cold from winter. The heat is so welcomed to me.

Yes, the weather makes a big difference. Unfortunately spring hasn't really kicked in here yet, it's more like October. Still, I'm glad to see something other than snow *lol* Thanks for your reply :-)
