do you try to hide your identity online?

i am talking about your real photo as avatar,do you put your real pic as avatar online.franky i dont feel comfortable to put my photo as avatar on "money making" sites like this one.dont exactly know why,but im more than happy to post all my photos as albums in social networking sites.
just a note to you guys out there,i no longer consider mylot as a "money makin" site,i dont care about the money,i like this site very much for the interaction so thinkin of changing my avatar.

It depends on the website. Sometimes, I opt to hide my real identity online as I don't want other people to know the real me. I borrow some pictures online that I find cute and use them as my avatars on different sites. But when it comes to social networking sites like Facebook and Friendster, i always use my real picture so my family and friends can easily identify me.

haha =D Everybody has got their own preferences to things, and what they feel ocmfortable in sharing on certain sites ^_^
Some ple like to share via facebook etc, but never in mylot, and that's one thing i dun understand why.. hehe ^_^ BUt not uploading their own avatar does not mean they are trying to hide their identity.. There will always be reasons for doing so, or maybe they just dun have the confidence ^_^

we should all understand how important it is to hide our real identity online. nowadays anyone can see your pictures and other personal information and misuse them too. they can morph your pictures, they can use your cell number to send you spam messages and god forbid if you have mentioned your address too.
