Yes an anti-virus program will slow down a PC, if you dont have a lot of memory in it. If you got more than 512 megs of ram you will not notice where the anti-virus programs slows you down at all. just what I have noticed with my home pc's 1 with 256 megs slow 1 with 512 megs dont notice 1 with 768 megs dont notice so the more memory you have you wont notice the slow down caused by an anti-virus program

yeah! it slows down. i compared already my pc's with antivirus and the newly formated pc without antivirus. it really affects the speed at start-up and even in the middle of something whatever task you give to your pc.

antivirus attack - ya it slows down but its much better than getting virus attacks and every 15 days call mendor to repair.
