Personal significance of my room

I am starting over due to sudden circumstances that happened in my life. This involves moving to a new place, a new house. I am working in the city and renting a room in a boarding house. I like my new room, it's big and airy. It's something new in my life, something that I have equipped with pieces from my old and new life. It's nice to buy things for my room, like a new lamp and altars from the churches that I have visited.
I consider my room as the place where I seek solace. It's my personal space where I can read, pray, cry, and move on. Each day I feel that my room is the witness on how I progress with my life, on how I get through the day to keep myself from breaking down.
What about you? What is the personal significance of your room to you?

I had a similar room when I left for college. I'm sorry that yours have to come about because of personal tragedies. Mine was a symbol of independence. I started out with a dormitory room, which I also filled with symbols of my own independence. Then I moved on to apartments, and then a few years back, a house.
The room is the first step. Hope yours lead to a happier life for you.

arystine starting over can be hard but its great you have
a room you really like. I am here because there was nowhere
else for me to go. My life has also been changed and am
still learning to cope, and this room is my haven to be
happy and sad in ,and to hope this new year brings some
hope and better things for me. I cannot break down as I know
'now that the only way left if up and hopes do come true. I am
happy here with my computer and my son comes to see me each week one day maybe soon we will once more be in an apartment.we shall see.
